Job Description

Because you belong at TwilioThe Who, What, Why and WhereTwilio is seeking a software engineer on the Voice team. You will join a cross functional team and collaborate with Product Manager, Architects, and a talented group of engineers to build new features which contribute to Twilio s first product Programmable Voice. This engineer will own, operate, and maintain the teams services in a highly scalable distributed production environment. Who Twilio is looking for an engineer who lives Twilio Magic and has a demonstrated track record of production level software development. They also have:

  • 4+ years of software development experience with cloud application development
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Successful track record of delivering and maintaining reliable, scalable, traceable and performant distributed systems to customers in a production cloud environment
  • Extensive experience with building and using REST APIs
  • Experience with:
    • Java or similar programming languages.
  • Distributed systems
  • Agile development and is comfortable decomposing complex problem statements and comfortable coordinating activities of other personnel
  • Nice to have:
  • Relational Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL or equivalent)
  • Production experience using Amazon Web Services
  • Distributed in-memory datastore (Redis, Memcached, Hazelcast or equivalent)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - You are confident in writing down and presenting your designs and decisions throughout the development lifecycle.

    • Draft technical documents creating comprehensive diagrams that leverages feasibility and cost tradeoffs of solutions
    • Reason about maintainability, availability, reliability, scalability and performance of complex distributed systems
