Job Description

    As a Full Stack Developer you will be part of a team that is responsible for implementing framework for Climate Risk calculations and building upstream and downstream integration workflows. The framework also includes climate risk analytics which involves supporting data scientists for exploring different machine learning models. The deployment will be cloud based solution and in multiple environments (Private cloud, Kubernetes and AWS) primarily focusing on AWS cloud.The job requires a mixture of software development skills using AWS services as well as traditional relational databases. This role should appeal to someone who likes to code and develop using the latest set of technologies and working practices.The full stack developer will be responsible for controlling and managing all aspects of the Climate Risk framework from requirements capture through to system design, solution construction and delivery. Duties
    • Designing software and producing scalable and resilient technical designs for the Cloud
    • Understanding business requirements and designing new modules/functionality to meet those
    • Creating Automated Unit Tests using Flexible/Open Source Frameworks using a Test Driven Development approach
    • Partner with supporting tech team to design and develop cohesive design for handshakes across applications
    • Analysis and build within Control, Stability, Resiliency, Capacity & Performance areas
    • Be responsible for development, testing, releasing, and monitoring
    • Robust delivery of code into the production environment
    • Proactively look to implement and further develop best practices across the group. The areas of focus should include, but not be limited to quality improvement, code reviews, code/architecture standards, code reuse, technical documentation and technical design specifications.
    • Learn new skills and keep up with industry innovations to deliver solutions to automate manual or cumbersome work
    • Share your knowledge and best practices with the team and wider organization
    Mandatory Skills : 3-8 years hands on experience with
    • Java (8/11)
    • Spring
    • Javascript
    • CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment strategies like Jules/Jenkins
    • GIT
    • Unit Testing (e.g. JUnit, etc)
    • SQL Database design and queries
    Desirable skills
    • Experience in cloud application development - Kubernetes/AWS
    • Experience in architecture and design of micro services
    • Mockito
    • Test Driven Development
    • Experience with relational database such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, code SQL and build basic procedures
    • Interested in application security including web application and web service cybersecurity experience
