Job Description

The role is for a Mainframe production support analyst who will address business incidents by aligning them to the system. The role will provide in-depth understanding of Defined contribution domain with an opportunity to work with business while still being deeply connected to technology.The Purpose of This RoleThe FPRS Support team s key role is the stability and availability of FPRS application to internal business and WI participants. The team has in-depth knowledge on Defined contribution business who work with the client relationship managers, product teams in business to address incidents reported by participants and plan sponsors along with supporting the batch cycles and the online environments.The Value You DeliverThis role requires the ability to perform production support work as well as the ability to research and resolve issues related to application abends, Control-M scheduling issues, and infrastructure changes for the FPRS, OmniPay, and Disc Recon applications. These applications are critical to WIs daily processing. The applications run in Fidelitys mainframe environment and the applicant should be familiar with mainframe application technology including COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, MVS, Endevor ISPF, TSO, CICS, Control-M, and basic IBM utilities.Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide daily operational support for the FPRS, OmniPay, and Disc Recon applications and related mainframe system environment.
  • Provide coding, testing, and implementation of COBOL batch, online and Control-M solutions to resolve production issues.
  • Respond to user inquiries regarding application-related problems.
  • Participate in small to large initiatives ranging from application incident resolution work to project related tasks.
  • Document operational procedures and share knowledge with the rest of the Operations team and other teams.
The Skills that are Key to this roleTechnical / Behavioral
  • Must be experienced in developing and maintaining systems in the MVS mainframe environment.
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, MVS, Endevor, ISPF, TSO, CICS, Control-M, and basic IBM utilities.
  • Experience coding, testing, and implementing COBOL solutions.
  • Must be capable of learning complex processes quickly, and have the ability to learn through independent research.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • The applicant should demonstrate effective communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Ability to learn and work quickly to meet business deadlines.
The Skills that are Good To Have for this role
  • Ability to triage incidents.
  • Familiar with CICS-Cobol code review.
  • Familiar with any debugging tool. Preferably Intertest.
  • Mainframe MQ is a plus
How Your Work Impacts the OrganizationThis position is a part of the 16 x 7 FPRS Mainframe Batch and Online Support Team within the Production Services Group. The team member will be engaged in ensuring the operational stability of the FPRS, Omnipay and Disc Recon applications. This team member will participate in system monitoring, installing fixes, incident troubleshooting and resolution, problem management, and ensuring operational standards adherence.The Expertise We re Looking For
  • 1 3 years experience in Mainframe development/enhancement/support. Cobol, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS is must.
  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experience required
  • Production support experience with financial systems a plus.
