It may not be for every role, and, as part of the recruitment process, you ll have the chance to discuss smart working and how it might work for the job you are applying for.About this roleSME SOHO Customer Service CIO team is looking for a talented, motivated and passionate Senior professional to be part of the design and development of highly scalable application(s) to provide best-in-class service capabilities for BT customers to drive overall NPS for Enterprise.The person should be an active practitioner of engineering excellence: keeping a high bar for quality, consistency, maintainability, efficiency, and all the other things that make software great, will work with a talented team of engineers to create state of the art software systems.Youll have the following responsibilitiesPrincipal Responsibilities:Lead a team of developers and designers to deliver software systems following the best practices of software development, DevOps and AgileDefine the strategy and architecture of the software application and ensure it is implemented the right way.Technical problem solver, identifying innovative solutions to project deadlocks and resolving issues and constraints through consensus and sound judgment.Work closely with the Business/CTIO/Operations teams to understand the business outcome, prioritization, and work to provide the best solution possible.Manage the Vendor team. Define the SLAs & KPIsDemand vs Capacity vs Cost managementBusiness Impact:Ensures best in class development, DevOps and Agile practicesYoull have the following skills & experienceEssential Skills (Skills without which the person cannot perform the role, limit to a maximum of four skills only)10+ years of experience in software development on multiple back and front end technologies using Agile and DevOps practices.Have sound concepts of Agile methodologies and have experience in Agile delivery (tools like JIRA/Confluence)Experience of leading technical team of 10+ engineers.Experience in complex projects or multi component integrationPresent role should be Technical Architect or Technical Lead or Engineering ManagerOverall Skills and Experience (Include skills that in addition to the essential skills are required for the person to perform the role in a better way)A proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and deliver results. Proficient in setting up goals for software development team.Strong verbal and written communication skillsA proven ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations and drive the team to achieve a solution and develop/deliver it.Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, technical leaders, and developersDemonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quicklyAbility to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentQualificationsEssentialPossess B.E. or B.Tech or M.S. (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science or related fieldPossess 10+ years of experience in ITProvide technical and functional guidance and direction to team membersPossess excellent written and oral communication skillsDesirableSQL/NO SQL Database skillsExperience on Micro Services, Cloud Architecture, latest design patternsHave a sound knowledge of today s enterprise application technologies and be able to articulate it in existing/new codeExperience in product development environments and knowledge of tools such as Git, CICD etc.Strong interest in learning new skills/technologies, curiosity to explore various technologies and solution approachesTelecom domain experienceCertificationsAbout BTBT has a key role in British society, fostering change and leading technology innovation.
