It may not be for every role, and, as part of the recruitment process, you ll have the chance to discuss smart working and how it might work for the job you are applying for.About this roleLead Architect for OneSiebel fully supports BT Wholesale s Product and Service offerings to ensure appropriate solutions are defined and Operational excellence maintained to help ensure BT Wholesale s position as Europe s leading Telcommunications supplier.As the primary CRM system for BT Wholesale, OneSiebel is an Application in the top ten BT Critical list and it is estimated that operational downtime would generate revenue loss exceeding 500K per day.OneSiebel is a vey complex system with over 150 integration in order to fulfil Order and Fault processing and provide appropriate Customer notifications. OneSiebel manages up to 30K high value Orders per day and has up to 3K Customers using the system at any one time. The Customers include BT internal staff and major Telecomms players including Talk Talk, Virgin, O2 and Vodafone.Youll have the following responsibilitiesLead on a number of Non-Functional aspects within OneSiebel including:Defining and delivering Strategic Architecture roadmaps which are presented to Director Level to ensure OneSiebel progresses on a strategic path.Managing End of Service Life to ensure OneSiebel has optimal vendor support.Defining and implementing solutions to improve areas of Operational Reliability such as improving resilience, integration improvements, monitoring enhancements etc to ensure the highest level of Operational Excellence.Providing consultancy for Component functional designs in Consultation with the ACF process to ensure designs are appropriate and have carefully considered non-functional impact.Introducing processes and techniques to support software upgrades and migrations ensuring quality/performant deliveries. Solutions may be presented to BT Board level.Assuring and improving System Performance to ensure Customer User Experience is maximised.Represent OneSiebel as a Single Point of Contact for NFMI (Non-Functional Maturity Index) which is a BT Programme initiated to ensuring the highest possible standard of maturity related to Non-Functional change and operations.Lead on Security Managing Cytadel and IP30 to ensure security vulnerabilities are cleared according to SLAs defined by BT Security.ITGC FLA (IT General Controls; First Line Assurer) Lead for OneSiebel ensuring appropriate controls are adhered to according to BT Best Practise.Youll have the following skills & experienceStrong Software Engineering skills and experience.The role requires skills across a broad range of the Software Engineering lifecycle as the role can change daily from Managing large projects (Technical Delivery Management) to Development, Testing, Integration, Security, Defining Operational Procedures, Designing changes, Manging Operational Issues, improving performance etc.Specific Technical skills. OneSiebel uses Siebel as the core application COTS package. A high level of experience is required in a number of aspects of Siebel from Build/Install/Integration and an appreciation of the Development approach is required.Underpinning Siebel at the Database tier is Oracle.A high degree of knowledge on the Oracle Architecture is required, particularly in the area of performance issue identification and management.Integration knowledge is required including technologies such as MQ, Web Services and an appreciation of other technologies in BT which integrate to OneSiebel.Strong Personal skills. The role is required to interact and Matrix Manage suppliers from Tech Mahindra and requires a very high level of interaction and engagement with technical build teams, ASG and Delivery.The role requires a strong Engagement with vendor partners including Oracle.The role requires a strong partner Engagement across other areas within BT to Deliver change at the DB tier (interaction with Production DBAs), Operating system teams and several disciplines within Dynamic IT to Manage Infrastructure change.Strong Communicaton skills : The ability to communicate at various levels is required;from the ability to perform presentations to Senior Management to communicating detailed Technical designs and issues with Vendors and Suppliers.Business Cases and Operational Costing: The ability to effectively cost solutions and clearly present this to the Customer is required.Leadership skills : The ability to not only Self-Manage but to additionally Lead change and on-board suppliers in a common goal of improving the platform is required.Problem Solving : The role requires exemplary problem solving skills often utilising limited data and forming patterns and approaches to resolve operational issues.Siebel experience IP15 onwards : MandatoryOracle RDBMS experience 11g onwards including RAC Clusters : MandatoryOS experience (Solaris / Linux) : MandatoryOS experience (Windows) : PreferableIntegration experience (including MQ/Web Services) : MandatoryOracle and Siebel Performance Management experience : MandatoryOracle Goldengate : PreferableOracle RAT and SPA (Real Application Testing and Sql Performance Analyzer) : PreferableApplimation Archiving : PreferableStorage infrastructure and design : PreferableTechnical Delivery experience : MandatorySecurity experience : PreferableInfrastructure specification : MandatoryNetwork experience : PreferableLoad Balancing experience : PreferableSoftware and Hardware Design experience : MandatoryArchtectural design and standards : PreferableOperational support experience : MandatoryProblem Solving experience : MandatoryBT Procedures:o SDIPs/Fireflows (BT s process to manage connectivity through firewalls) : Mandatory.o Infrastructure ordering : Mandatoryo NFMI : Mandatoryo CAVE and IP360 : MandatoryAbout BTBT has a key role in British society, fostering change and leading technology innovation.
