It may not be for every role, and, as part of the recruitment process, you ll have the chance to discuss smart working and how it might work for the job you are applying for.About this roleThis role is for a Technology Lead /Database Architect in the CPQ domain with ~ 10-16 Years of relevant Experience as a key SME cutting across several business- critical Telco OSS/BSS Software Systems.The role is accountable to ensure Delivery Excellence by leading on Technology Transformation, Development and Test Automation as per S/W Engineering Best PractisesYoull have the following responsibilitiesAs a Software Engineering Specialist, you are responsible for the development and support of multiple S/W systems.You are the lead database architect /dev lead with Pretty Hands-On Expertise on various Relational and Non-Relational Database Technologies -Oracle PL/SQL, MongoDB, Python, Kafka, Data Analytics, Performance Tuning, Data Migration/Transformation, Data Modelling, ETL, Microservices Architecture and various Design Patterns etcYou have Knowledge on Native Cloud Technologies like AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda), GCP etcYou are conversant with emerging Tech as well like AI/ML/Data Analytics and are Technology and Tool Aware and you keep yourself up to date with latest Technologies and Digital Skills and trendsYou can work both as an IC as well as a Team Player to showcase what good is by being an expert engineer.You will be expected to demonstrate best practices in refining requirements, design solutions, review code, tests and deploy applications.You are a role model for the Software Engineering Professionals in the team with a responsibility to set a high bar for quality.As part of this responsibility, you will provide regular technical coaching and mentoring to junior Team members.As a Technical expert, you continuously evaluate areas of Technology, Process and Standards to identify improvement opportunities and areas of Optimisation.You are a key knowledge champion and seek every opportunity to share your experience across the department.You will be required to represent your team in meetings with stakeholders, contributing to their strategy and direction.As a technology enthusiast you keep up to date with the latest developments in the IT industry and apply industry best practice to drive continuous improvement and innovation within BT.When required you re able to independently manage teams of size small to medium comprising of High Performing mix of Developers and QAYoull have the following skills & experienceExperience in handling, understanding complex E2E S/W Architecture and business requirements and Provide clarity to Development teams.Capable to work in Agile environment with experience in reviewing architectural models and producing detailed and unambiguous design artefactsAble to do Technical and Functional Code Reviews, walkthroughs and recommend simple and innovative solutions to complex business problemsIn depth understanding of E2E SDLC used on large scale agile projectsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, communicating and influencing effectivelyExperience in working with multi-functional engineering teams across geo and time zonesQuick Learn and Build Attitude and able to work with little supervisionAlways able to look at Delivery Optimisation ways via AutomationYou are a Knowledge Champion and well aware of the mandatory BT processes and practises and always adhere them towards complianceYou are able to write Technology white papers enabled via Proof of Concepts for various Tooling Assessments towards Transformation Feasibility workTechnical Skills Required: -Expert knowledge with Hands-On Coding experience on Oracle, MongoDB, Graph DB, Python, KafkaExpert Knowledge on Data Modelling ,Data Science and Big DataExpert knowledge of programming concepts including OOPS, TDDBDD, VirtualizationContainerization, API Gateways, REST, SOA, MVC Architecture and Design Patterns, DevSecOps CI/CT/CD etcKnowledge on Reporting Tools like Qliksense, Splunk, ELK , Power BI etcKnowledge on Native Cloud Technologies like AWS (S3, Lambda Architecture, RDS, DynamoDB) ,GCP etcAble to Set Up /Configure MongoDB Clusters as system adminIn depth knowledge of Atlassian Suite tools (Confluence and Jira) or similar toolset with Agile Ways of WorkingKnowledge on DevOps ToolchainsKnowledge on Emerging Tech -AI/ML/DL, Data Analytics is added advantageTelco OSS/BSS Software Systems Development Experience is desirableQualification: -B.E/B.Tech or Master s in Engineering or Equivalent from a Reputed InstituteAbout BTBT has a key role in British society, fostering change and leading technology innovation.
