OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLEHe/She will be responsible in managing Power BI Services Platform end-to-end to support our customer s needs in gaining insights from our enterprise data. And demonstrate broad understanding of Power BI Development Techniques, Deployment and Data Integration for various business scenarios. Overall, He/She will also be responsible for platform Maintenance, Development, Implementation, Developing Best practices, integration, Enhancement, and Platform audits.The Power BI Specialist reports to Delivery Manager. Innovation Team, Application Platform Owners, Business process owners, Infrastructure teamExternally: Third-party technology providers, Strategic PartnersLocation: Position will be based in Bangalore Willing to travel occasionally for onsite meetings and team workshops as requiredRESPONSIBILITIES: -Platform Operations:

• Will be responsible in setting up & maintaining Power BI infrastructure (Services, OnPremise Data Gateway) and perform upgradation.
• Will act as advisor for most optimal and effective architecture and implementation/usage of PowerBi Services.
• Will be instrumental in Platform activities which will involve Yearly Infra Scaling, User and License management, Performance Optimization, Data Integration topics and App Development & Best Practices
• Proficient in PowerBi server administration with experience in backups, recovery, and restoration
• Responsible to perform Power BI database Backup Activity related to Power BI Services.
• Responsible to monitor and maintain the power BI Services.
• Responsible to resolve Power BI Ticket (On-Boarding, Assigning Rights, Folder/Workspace Creation, App/Report Publish, Data Refresh schedule creation) on daily basis.
• Responsible to have regular update on Power BI New Functionalities, product release through MS forum and other community sites. And Managing and updating Platform Documentation whenever needed.

Power BI Development:

• Able to develop dashboards as per business requirement and Securing the Power BI and data/reports
• Able to Translate business needs to technical specifications and Design, build and deploy solutions.
• Able to integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service (SaaS), Teams, SharePoint or by API automation.
• Will be responsible for access management of app workspaces and content
• Integration of PowerBi servers with different data sources and timely upgradation/services of PowerBi
• Responsible for On-premise data gateway, data refresh
• Responsible in helping various kind of database connections (SQL, Oracle, Excel etc.) with Power BI Services
• Responsible to troubleshoot the issue related to Power BI desktop and Power BI Report server.
• Responsible for design methodology and project documentation.

General:

• Ensure collaboration with Functional Architects as business cases are setup for each initiative, collaborate with other analytics team to drive and operationalize analytical deployment. Maintain clear and coherent communication, both verbal and written, to understand data needs and report results.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations
• Strong ability to take the lead and be autonomous Proven planning, prioritization, and organizational skills. Ability to drive change through innovation & process improvement. Be able to report to management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCETo be considered for this role, candidate need to demonstrate the following skills experience and attributes:Requisite Abilities and/or Skills:

• Minimum 6 and maximum 8 years of total experience
• Platform Operations:
  • Mandatory 4 years of experience in in PowerBi server administration using Power BI Services
  • Experience in managing highly available Power BI infrastructure (Cluster/Standalone, On-premise Data gateway implementation)
  • Experience in Power BI Service Administrations Settings (Tenants, workspaces, etc) and Configurations.
  • Experience in Power BI Service Data integration.
  • Experience in managing multiple Power BI Service Nodes.
  • Experience in Managing BI contents user creation/management, setting up data privacy, security keys and access to apps workspace and content, Power BI Apps and Report publish.
  • Good knowledge on premise data gateway, data refresh optimization and techniques
  • Good to have Power BI Analytics APIs knowledge.

• Development:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Power BI End-to-End Development using Power BI Desktop connecting multiple data sources (SAP, SQL, Azure, REST APIs, etc.)
  • Experience in App Development, developing queries, reports, and forms.
  • Expertise in using advance level calculations on the data set.
  • Able to develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with warehouse standard
  • Experience in Developing visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop
  • Experience in Role based data security. Strong understanding of Power BI application security layer model.
  • Hands on PowerPivot, Power Query, Dax Query, Excel, Pivots/Charts/grid and Power View
  • Experience in integration of PowerBi Services with different data sources
