Job Description

    • Youll be responsible for end to end implementation and maintenance of the features, fixes and enhancements to the platform.
    • Your contributions directly and immediately improve the experience of our customers
    • You get to work on cutting edge technologies

    • Each project you take up will increase the scope of your impact on the platform
    What youll do
    • Understand current technology utilized at Esper and develop internal tools and workflows to improve them.
    • Implement deployment automation workflows that scale across multiple teams around the globe.
    • Set up and maintain test, QA and production infrastructure
    • Enable engineering teams to deliver their code to production in a fast, secure and reliable way
    • Monitor key infrastructure components like database, servers, CI systems and public facing services for performance degradation, downtimes and security breaches
    • Work closely with the engineering teams during every stage of project execution to proactively estimate infrastructure and resource requirements
    • Provide critical feedback to engineering teams in early project stages on best practices for creating new services, defining configuration and handling sensitive data
    • Use metrics and data to provide insights on customer usage, bottlenecks, future requirements, security and scalability of the platform
    • Improve Esper Platform by planning, recommending and executing strategic projects
    • Create standards, guidelines, sample projects, demos to influence engineering teams to write stable, secure, maintainable and quality code
    • Communicate with other teams across multiple time zones to drive and coordinate changes
    • Objectively assess new technologies, tools, frameworks and design patterns for adoption into Esper Platform
    • Have a shift left attitude to problem solving by identifying and solving problems during ideation, design and prototyping phases
    • Become the Subject Matter Expert(SME) for the DevOps team
    • Do performance tuning and make the system reliable and scalable.
    What were looking for
    • 5+ YOE
    • Hands-on experience in working with all parts of the stack.
    • Hands-on experience in performance optimisation and monitoring the system using multiple metrics.
    • Hands-on experience in microservices and container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
    • Experience with architecting deployments and creating automation workflows.
    • Experience in building, deploying and maintaining scalable distributed systems in cloud environments
    • knowledge about the security aspects that to be implemented in the systems
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience in defining an driving metrics for successful product releases
    • Experience in creating scalable infrastructure based on requirements
    • Experience in infrastructure cost improvement initiatives
    • Contributions on one or more open source projects in DevOps space
    • Understanding of service level metrics like SLOs, SLIs and SLAs and mechanisms to track and improve them
    • Experience in defining and driving success metrics for a product/feature
    • Knowledge of Linux kernel and/or experience with building kernel modules
    • Experience in collaborating with the Product team to gather feedback to drive technical decisions
