Job Description

    Designation: Formulator ScientistRoles and Responsibilities
    • Lead Projects across areas of oral dose form and excipient system development including direct compression, wet and dry granulation, pellet coating and formulation development
    • work with a team of scientists involved in development and execution of activities, liasing with analytical and formulation colleagues as required
    • Develop Project Timelines and regularly report progress versus plan
    • Carry out application research studies related to Company product use in ODTs, swallow tablets, coated pellets and CR matrix formulations and compare the performance of SPI material(s) with competitors material(s).
    • To draft and document final product development reports that summarise the key project findings versus the original project charter and objectives
    • Participate in Technical Transfer Activities by transferring all documentation, learnings and understanding to enable the efficient scale up
    • Summarise monthly project status, via powerpoint presentations to R and D colleagues and other Global company Functions as necessary
    • Understand the requirements of IP filing and how to spot possible patent opportunities related to project work.
    • Understand current trends in oral dose form development and identify opportunities and ideas for future new product development
    • Able to prioritise and identify key issues and address those accordingly
    Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Requirements
    • A Post Graduate Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
    • Minimum 6-9 years experience in formulation and product development.
    • Competent in pellet coating, tablet formulation and wet and dry granulation techniques via hands on experience as well as an ability to interpret and concisely summarise results.
    • Experience in developing and filing of IP would be advantageous.
    • Must be proficient at multi-tasking.
    • Strong leadership & team building ability.
    • Comfortable being challenged and dealing with ambiguity and challenging the status quo
    • Perform independent work related to projects and/or routine activities.
    • Review paperwork, reports etc. for accuracy and logic.
    • Mathematical and reasoning ability.
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Experience in technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
    • Must work well in a team and across functional organizations. Fosters teamwork to get results. Can deal with conflict in a respectful and effective manner
    • High level of attention to detail andexcellent documentation skills.
    • Effective project management with good communication skills.
    • Must be proactive and willing to take initiative and responsibility.
    • Self driven, takes initiative and delivers on time.
