*JOB PURPOSE: The Compliance Engineer works in the Product Standards and Regulation space and is responsible for ensuring 100% compliance of all Retail Electric Power Solution (REPS) products S/he will be involved in interpreting and adapting the process for product compliance and certification. The Liaison provides a communication conduit between the local regulators, Marketing, Product Definition, and the Engineering Teams to ensure market access (ability to sell) for Caterpillar products. To direct and guide & train the design and development teams on major engineering product or process changes in a manner to ensure products are in 100 % compliance for targeted country compliance requirements.JOB DUTIES: The key areas of responsibility encountered in this role may include any or all of the following:Liaison with different regulators and certification agencies to ensure product / process certification and Compliance (for example CE and UL certification, etc.) and new legislation related to Genset regulation and standards.Engage with corporate compliance team for issues on compliance matters.Actively involve during the certification process (e.g. CE, Noise, etc). Ensure the Production & Engineering teams are aware of the timetable and work with respective agencies for ensuring these certifications are in place.Technical Construction file (TCF) are maintained for all products. Ensure TCFs are updated to reflect any change in ProductCoordinate with cross functional team and corporate teams (like RoHS audits etc.)Conducts product Safety audits during NPIs (Safety FMEA).Review Internal standards and process documents and update them as required.Act as a trainer for engineers on Compliance and Regulation. (e.g. Adding the right specs on drawing for RoHS)Participate in Annual Budgeting process and ensure compliance requirements are within budget.Ensure that 100 % of REPS products meet the compliance for the target country.Success factorsThis position provides a platform for growth and leadership skills development. Incumbent will have opportunities work with several internal & external teams. Significant visibility and senior leaders communications during certification process.Key skills and Knowledge requirement:Effective in verbal and written communications to ensure communication with Global team and external and internal stakeholders.Understanding of International standards like ISO8528, UL2200, UL489, CE, RoHS and other applicable standardsConducting Product and Process Audit.Sense of urgency to ensure meeting certification deadlines.Influencing and convincing skills.Need to understand and apply the principles of Caterpillars Code of Worldwide Business Conduct and Operating Principles.Ability to travel to Global Caterpillar manufacturing plants as needed.Must be a team player and to be able to work in different time zones., * Required Qualifications: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree with 12+ years of relevant experience.Desired Qualifications: Master s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experienceExperience working on Compliance and Regulation for Gensets, engines or machines.
