Job Description

The UNIX System Engineer will join the internal IS Team in India , which has seen sustained growth and has big plans for the future. You will become a member of a dynamic project team having the ability to put your fingerprint on the implementation of our already multi-award-winning digital banking products. This Finastra IS team work as a global team across many functions that work closely together to ensure changes, support etc. are coordinated across the respective platforms.Responsibilities & Deliverables:Your deliverables as a UNIX System Engineer will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide day-to-day operational support of the environment as needed, including: new system delivery, change requests, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and the resolution of system issues.
  • Participate effectively in the execution of enterprise support processes including: Asset management, Customer Support, Request Management, Problem Management, Change Management
  • Define, document and adhere to technical and operational standards and processes in support of infrastructure
  • Adhere to SLAs
Required Experience:
  • BSc. in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Minimum of 1/2 years experience engineering, supporting a global, heterogeneous, multi-data center computing environment
  • Demonstrated technical skills: planning, implementing and supporting technologies, including all aspects of system provisioning, management, troubleshooting, and operational stability
  • Knowledge/experience in supporting Unix OS on X86 intel
  • Oracle/SUN, AIX (server builds, NIS, Nfs, shell, performance tuning, patch management and firmware updates); Implement software and hardware RAID solutions on UNIX environment is a plus
  • Knowledge/experience of UNIX server SPARC hardware components (SUN VXXX, M4000 ,M5000, Tseries) is a plus
  • Working knowledge of NAS and SAN technologies, preferable experience with Netapp is a plus
  • Knowledge/experience in supporting Unix OS on HP/DELL/Oracle servers (X86 intel); IBM Pseries servers is a plus
  • Scripting skills in one of the following: Shell scripting, Python or PERL is a plus
  • Experience in supporting Aspera, zabbix software and market data infrastructure is a plus
  • Ability to set scope and deliver quality results
  • Innovative team player with strong analytical problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • At least intermediate English language skills
