The job involves leading a team working for a Global Derivatives Process, specializing in administering end to end life cycle of the derivative instruments. The position requires good experience and background in financial markets and Exchange traded derivatives product. Since the role is of a people manager, candidate is responsible for end to end performance management of the direct reports.The key responsibilities of the role include: The responsibilities may include, but may not be limited to, the following;PROCESS MANAGEMENTSupervise team working on ETD custody/IOO for Global derivatives practice Ensure derivative trading/ margin and Reconciliation activities are efficiently supported and ensure seamless day-to-day processing. Ensure Client SLA s are understood and cascaded down to the team. Ensure clients SLA s are met and proper tracking and control mechanism are in place. Taking ownership for all the deliverables being sent out by the team with proper review checks As derivatives SME, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level Maximize the teams operational efficiency by monitoring workflow distribution and managing the allocation of resources within the team Implement consistent best practice and monitor the standards as agreed with the home country teams Determines staffing needs, including hiring and performance improvement decisions and ensures resources are available to accomplish prioritiesTEAM MANAGEMENTConducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the unit including business objectives Allocates work between the teams Steer the implementation of the business planRISK MANAGEMENTUnderstand operational risk and how to mitigate it Employees are required to comply with the regulatory regime in which Northern Trust operates as appropriate to the above role Employees are expected to exercise due care and diligence, ensuring the areas the incumbent is responsible for are organized and controlled Employees are required to observe proper standards of market, business and personal conduct, demonstrating integrity in the execution of dutiesSkills: The candidate should possess the following skills:Extensive knowledge/experience in financial markets and products is required Role requires managing a team working 24*5, candidate should be flexible working in any shift as per the process/team requirements. Candidate would be expected to work in NA shift as a part of the profile to provide managerial coverage to the team Interpersonal (relationship builder, respectful, resolves problems, people friendly and organizational savvy) Communication (presentation skills, listening skills, oral communication skills, allows others to express themselves and written communication skills) Self-management (adaptability and resilience, learning behavior, integrity and ethics and relationship builder) Motivation (performance standards, achieving results and persistent) Client Service and Quality (quality, relationship building and client satisfaction) Administration (anticipates needs, execution, planning, process specialist, quality seeker and time management)Experience Candidate to have 6 to 8 years experience in related industry (Derivatives Processing, Accounting, Finance, Valuations, Capital markets, Custody). Minimum experience of 1 year in managing the teams is preferred. Graduate in Accounting / Economics. Additional qualification in accounting / finance preferred (e.g., CA/ CS/ CWA/CFA/ MBA) Managing multiple stakeholders in Bangalore, Chicago and Limerick/London would be the key expectation from candidate, hence prior exposure would be given a preference This role can be for EMEA/NA shift and candidate should be flexible to work in NA shift. Candidate should be flexible to work in Pune as a work location. Extensive knowledge and experience of derivatives products is required. Experience in Exchange traded Derivatives is desired Strong problem solving skills, detail and results oriented. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint presentations. Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to handle business correspondence. Sound knowledge of the financial markets, instruments and back office functions. Demonstrate high ethical standards. Proactive and capable to handle multiple tasks under extremely time sensitive conditions. Good understanding of trade economics related to various financial product transactions is an addition.
