What youll do: We are looking for a Senior Data Center Technical Marketing Engineer in the Data Center & Provider Connectivity Business Unit to promote and increase customer adoption of Data Center networking technologies with a strong focus on Network Diagnostics and Nexus Dashboard Insights for Nexus 9000 fabrics including ACI and NXOS with or without NDFC controller. We are seeking a motivated, detail oriented & committed engineer that will rise to the challenge to drive enhancements of products, produce high quality documentation and presentations for our stakeholders and communicate the value of those products to customers and sales teams. Often times you will work as part of a team as well as independently in development engineering and customer engagements of and Data Center-related latest technologies. You should be curious and eager to learn about new products, technologies, and solutions to provide valuable input and communication to the sales, engineering, and product management organization. You will be instrumental in driving the future technical product direction. Be a technical consultant on customer calls and meetings. Work closely with the field, key Systems Integrators, Engineering, and Cisco Technology Partners in an Agile environment. Work with automation or cloud software to enable next generation network design and network architectures. Develop automated methods to own the network and optimize our customers user experience. Build messaging about key customer challenges and benefits of Ciscos solutions based on use cases. Build documents and presentations with technical details for the products, technologies, and solutions. Travel and deliver training to customers, partners, sales teams both domestically and internationally at events and customer locations.Your key focus area of development will be on Data Center Network Day 2 Operation tools for Nexus switches, including Nexus Dashboard Insights and Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller. You will be part of a team striving to constantly deliver the best experience to customers deploying Cisco Data Center products. • You own a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Excellent communication skills both in technical and non-technical discussions
• Excellent analytical skills. Confirmed ability to understand sophisticated and in-depth level technical situations, related business challenges, and be able to communicate these technologies in a clear and simple way to customers and sales teams.
• Excellent experience with at least one between ACI and Nexus 9000 NXOS based platforms.
• Experience with Day 2 Operation Tools.
• DevOps Programming and scripting experience in Python, and leading infrastructure automation platforms
• Excellent knowledge of market-leading public cloud platforms, with a specific focus on the networking angle
• Solid TCP/IP routing skills (BGP is a must) and good understanding of IPsec encryption protocols.
• Able to legally live and work in the country for which you re applying, without visa support or sponsorship
• Ability to travel to customer sites once deemed safe to do so (amount of travel will vary based upon your role and technology team)
