*Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals for paper, multimedia or web-based publications. Contributes to the timely design, production and delivery/completion of product documentation and document sets.As a member of the technical writing division, you will organize and prepare information for publication and develop publication concepts for the best communication of subject matter. Review technical information prepared by other staff members for clarity and content. Take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience., *Technical WriterYOU ARE READY TO MAKE AN IMPACTAs a member of Oracle s Financial Services Cloud Development organization, you will work in a multidisciplinary team to develop and deliver leading edge SaaS solutions for the global marketplace. You will be working on our next generation cloud-native platform currently under development.This is a new role in the organization and you will be a foundation member of the team chartered with developing various forms of user assistance including embedded and contextual help, online help, user and implementation guides, video tutorials, and training courseware. We also participate in product design and development by assisting in reviewing and providing feedback on customer-facing UI text.We employ Agile methodologies, lean development practices, design thinking and we encourage and foster an open, collaborative workplace. YOU ARE SETTING STANDARDSAs a Technical Writer, you will:

  • • • Learn about Oracle Financial Services Cloud apps, technology, and user assistance concepts through research, hands-on practice, and lively discussions with UX design, product management, development, quality assurance
      • Learn about our end users, consultants, administrators, developers and figure out what they need.
      • Continuously find out more, and stay abreast of the latest and coolest trends in user assistance, curriculum design, and information architecture; use what you learn to innovate and improve constantly.

• Work closely with our UX Design team to Advocate for our users
  • • • Ensure our UIs look good; the content makes sense, and are usable.
      • Review and write text for the UI.
      • Ensure that all on-screen text, including page names, field labels, tip text, and help, prevent mistakes or false starts, and guide users to the quickest route to success.

• Write, create, build
  • • • Create content that our users want to read That is, write engaging content, with:
        • Easy-to-read content that can be understood by everyone and that translates well into other languages
        • Graphics, flow diagrams, and infographics that look good and aid understanding
        • Videos, demos, and anything else that helps users quickly understand how to complete their tasks and maximize their use of our software

• • • • Review or design all kinds of training material, for example e-learning or instructor-led training
      • Work with product managers, strategy teams and domain owners to create top-of-the-line collateral content to support product launch, updates and introduction of new features.
      • Produce content that follows DITA standards and company style standards, maintains a conversational voice, and requires minimal rework during the editing and review process

What you need to be successfulBA/BS or MA/MS in Technical Communication, English, Instructional Design, or a related field, with at least 4-5 years of experience in writing software documentation and developing related forms of user assistance.Must have

• Outstanding written and oral communication skills; you must be able to prepare written communication and convey information clearly with an approachable, conversational tone
• Demonstrated proficiency in understanding user requirements and addressing those requirements in documentation and instructional videos
• Experience with and knowledge of a range of visual information design techniques
• Understanding of and experience with DITA; proficiency in designing and developing content that follows DITA standards
• Ability to quickly learn and communicate technical concepts and procedures
• Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize, schedule, and meet aggressive deadlines; proven track record of delivering on time and to quality metrics
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently and as part of a larger, virtual team; ability to develop working relationships with other internal groups to meet objectives and complete tasks
• Organized, professional, motivated, and deft at making quick decisions
• Proven ability to think critically, solve problems, and take initiative

Nice to have

• Understanding of and experience with supply chain management and procurement business processes
• Experience with Oracle Applications Cloud services
• Experience working with an XML-based authoring tool and with video development software
• Passion to stay current with industry trends and related technology
• Broad understanding of and experience with agile software design and management
