We are the Employee Experience Corporate Technology (EECT) research team in JPMCs User Experience (UX) Center of Excellence. • Design User Research proposals with clear hypothesis, scope, audience and methodology
• Manage User Research requests from across the organization, proactively proposing mechanisms by which demands can be met
• Conduct research, synthesize findings, and communicate insights to inspire teams, catalyze design, and fuel strategic decisions
• Work collaboratively with other researchers, designers, partners, and teams through all phases of a project
• Test prototypes and reference designs for websites, apps, and other digital experiences, all with the ecosystem and journey of end users in mind
Responsibilities
• Propose and implement a quantitative research methodology which harnesses existing data relating to user behavior, reports this in a manner able to drive prioritization of work and created a continuous feedback loop that seeks to refine the quality of data sourced.
• Demonstrate a higher than usual degree of user empathy, and will be able to tell a compelling story about the motivations and intentions of our users, inspiring all stakeholders towards Aha! moments.
• Be able to take sometimes, fuzzy-headed notions and craft those into solid, testable research hypotheses around which you will design and deliver the appropriate research.
• Have excellent project management and organizational skills and be able to work collaboratively and productively with diverse teams and as well as independently.
• Take a question or a problem and be able to translate it into a testable hypothesis complete with a specific method and tasks that illuminate the heart of the issue.
• Be able to quickly understand the needs of our internal clients especially as they relate to who their users are and what questions they really need to have answered.
• Develop research strategies and proposals and execute on time and on budget.
• You are digitally savvy ideally with experience in both quantitative and qualitative methods and are comfortable presenting findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with our visual designers to further improve information architecture, site navigation, labels, and other design elements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Design Research, Cognitive / Experimental Psychology or related discipline from a major accredited college or university (Masters/Doctorate preferred)
• 5-6 years or equivalent experiences as a researcher for enterprise software, digital platforms, and defining research documentation standards
• Experience running UI/UX or user studies measuring both qualitative and quantitative data
• Knowledge of user experience research tools and techniques (e.g. field research, heuristic reviews, usability testing, benchmarking, card sorts, etc.), and know the strengths and weaknesses of each.
• Experience in proposing and applying experience metrics in enterprise organizations, and establishing methods by which to gather and report back on insights against agreed metrics.
• Experience in proposing and running research studies aimed at understanding an empathetic view of users and translation that understanding into actionable product and service design insight
• A balance of empathy, productivity + a passion for elegant, simple, emotionally rich design
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, hands-on and creative environment
• Excellent communication, listening, and negotiation skills with clients and senior executives- write, speak and present information effectively, persuasively and confidently in a variety of communication/corporate settings
• Experience partnering with multiple teams including UX design, product management, and development
Qualifications (+)
• Master s, Ph.D or other terminal degree in Human Computer Interaction, Design Research, Cognitive / Experimental Psychology, Anthropology or related discipline from a major accredited college or university
• Experience in Visual Design or Product Design
