Job Description

    Working in Application Support means youll use both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. Youll work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus: design or programming. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, youll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines. Finally, youll have the opportunity to develop professionally and to grow your career in any direction you choose.This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
    • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
    • Basic knowledge of application development
    • Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages, plus an interest in learning other coding languages and skills as needed
    • Working knowledge of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
    • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
    Objectives of the Role/Responsibilities
    • Lead support team on Application scalability, Logging, monitoring, intelligent alerting, self-healing
    • High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Sustained Resiliency, Chaos Engineering
    • Application Knowledge Support Artifacts, etc.
    • Manage day to day issues including daily health checks of applications and processes, working closely with end users, development staff and Infrastructure teams, to prioritize and resolve and/or mitigate outages
    • Lead Monitoring team and enforce standards for timely and effective reporting, tracking, follow-up and communication of problems to internal and external clients, technical resources, and executives
    • Ensures information controls, back-up and recovery strategies are in place across all environments
    • Design automated software and product upgrades, change management, and release management solutions, Design self-healing and resiliency patterns
    • Implement continuous process improvement, including but not limited to policy, procedures, and CDE monitoring
    • Help in identifying, coordinating, and implementing initiatives/projects and activities that create efficiencies and optimize technical processing
    • Develop and maintain relationships with technical staff, end users and clients
    • Carefully evaluate alternative risks and solutions before taking action to provide timely resolution
    • Monitor CDE/MC activities/processes to ensure timely and effective reporting, tracking, follow-up and communication of problems to internal and external clients, technical resources, and executives
    Required Qualifications
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Application Support/Engineering.
    • 5+ years experience managing Application on Java, Cloud, UNIX/Linux/Aix environment.
    • 5+ years of Hand-on experience with Public and Private Cloud-based applications, technologies and tools, deployment, monitoring and operations, such as Kubernetes, Prometheus, FluentD, Slack, Elasticsearch, Grafana, Kibana, etc.
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience with monitoring tools Splunk, WILY and Dynatrace.
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Middleware Technologies (WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, SM)
    • 5+ years Strong analytical & trouble shooting skills required.
    • Understanding of Agile delivery principles and tools including Kanban framework
    • Experience with high volume, mission critical applications, and building upon messaging and or event-driven architectures. Understanding of container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Experience with one or more public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure
    • Working knowledge of DevOps Tool chains and CICD
