Job Description

*Overall Responsibility:The Disaster Recovery Coordinator will participate in assessing, coordinating, and communicating recovery environment requirements associated with the Data Center s current, in plan and new activities, to appropriate technology groups and management, resulting in recommendations to enable timely, effective decisions regarding hardware/software recovery planning. Provide very complex project management between the technology groups and other business groups, emphasizing regular, direct communication with application support personnelExperience & Skills Required

• 2-4 years of work experience in the information technology field
• 2-4 years working in Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity
• Knowledge of availability and IT disaster recovery planning process and approach is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
• Strong administrative skills, with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target dates
• Skilled in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint presentations abilities
• Ability to excel in a team environment and have work schedule flexibility
• Must be a leader and productive team player-especially during crisis times.

Education

• Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity certification is a plus.
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.

Principal Functional Responsibilities

• Work with business to analyze the impact of loss of an application to the corporation
• Coordinate/facilitate data center and application disaster recovery meetings and planning sessions
• Coordination and scheduling of Disaster Recovery exercises; includes tracking, follow-up and management reporting required to resolve all issues identified, to ensure the ability to recover, in the event of a disaster
• Work with data center, infrastructure, operations, business, and technical support groups to develop and maintain viable recovery plans
• Interface with data center support, business unit support, vendors and external suppliers/receivers on recovery issues and other relevant matters; facilitate timely identification, escalation, resolution, and follow-up for all outstanding issues
• Assume a prominent coordination/facilitation role in the disaster recovery process, in the event of an extended outage
• Facilitate communication between business and technology groups to ensure that technical recovery strategies meet business objectives
• Coordinate development of annual schedules for technical recovery documentation maintenance and update, exercises and independent review and validation.
• Report the technical recovery status of applications, platforms, and storage environment to management
• Maintain currency in trends and technology areas related to Disaster Recovery/ Business Continuity; attend appropriate vendor meetings and conferences, as required
