Job Description

Position Summary

SCM Developer requires a broad expertise or unique knowledge of the subject. With the application of his expertise he needs to drive technical decisions and he must stay abreast of advancements in related technologies. Able to guide and help development teams working on different / same products or technologies to ensure that the technologies interoperate or connect to each other appropriately. Having wide-ranging experience, this role expects to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. It also helps to provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.

About Winshuttle Essential functions and responsibilities
  • Windows Installer packaging (MSI) with Install Shield
  • Improve reliability and usability of existing installers
  • Work closely with developers to provide quick resolutions to build issues
  • Manage source code repositories in SVN and Git
  • Working with MS Build, PowerShell, C#, TeamCity VSTS
  • Manage and oversee Build and Release Management activities release branches/streams, and merging, Continuous Integration, hot-fixes and Service Pack releases
  • Debugging and investigating root cause of installation related failures/problems encountered in internal and external customer environments
  • Automating manual SCM Processes using appropriate Automation Scripts
  • Accurately gathering detailed user requirements and analyze, design, develop, and implement solutions

Knowledge
  • Windows Installer (MSI) experience
  • Working experience with any of Installation Authoring Tools Install Shield/ WIX/ Install Anywhere
  • Experience with any of these Scripting languages Install Script, VB script, PowerShell, Batch Scripting
  • Must be able to demonstrate deep technical troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Experience working with VSTS, TFS, Git, SVN
  • Experience working with MS Build
  • Experience with TeamCity, Jenkins
  • Development experience in C#
  • Experience configuring Code Coverage, Code Quality and Code Review Tools
Experience
  • BE/BTech/MCA/Equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related technical field from an accredited university or college with 2-6 years of professional experience as a release/install engineer in a software engineering organization
