Job Description

• Verizon s Cloud Engineering & Enablement team is looking for Jira/Confluence administrator and Cloud Support Engineers. You will be playing a key role in Supporting and architecting the DevOps platform Tools on Cloud along with enabling self-service, innovative solutions and customer support. Expertise in Cloud, Devops Tools, SRE, Scripting and Engineering Support with excellent communication skills. Jira/Confluence Administrator who will be responsible for administering, evolving and supporting Jira/Confluence Server/Data Centre instances.
• Architecture level influence over the entire implementation along with the business as usual administration.
• Take ownership of customer issues reported for DevOps tools and seeing problems through to resolution within SLA.
• Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve DevOps tools related issues.
• Build tools and required infrastructure in public cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.)
• Build intrinsic connect with user community and understand the business needs.
• Enhance, Expand and Augment the DevOps tool umbrella to stay on top of latest trends.
• Participate in design review of new infrastructure, and new product/tool development.
• Participate in DevOps tool analysis, creates proof of concept models, and makes recommendations to support the tools selection process.
• Ensure tool compliance to Verizon security protocols.
• Generate actionable metrics to measure the performance of the infrastructure tools, frameworks and other systems that support the entire engineering and release.
• Engage with vendors on a regular basis to understand product upgrades and new features.
• Proactively identify server performance improvements, devise upgrade plans, and execute those plans in a timely manner.
• Connect with external DevOps user community through meetups and forums to understand the best practices and share common solutions that have paved way for user experience.
• Incidence management and root cause analysis.

What we re looking for.You ll need to have:

• Bachelor s degree or four or more years of experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Four or more years of experience in supporting DevOps tools, Cloud and SRE.
• Proven experience as a Super user or Administrator of Jira/Confluence.
• Experience in installing and configuring new Jira/Confluence environments.
• Worked on Jira/Confluence integration with SSO/LDAP/SSO systems.
• Experience with Jira plugin management/development.
• Knowledge in configuring Jira Data Centre clusters/load balancers/SSO.
• Knowledge of the Jira platform with experience building complex Jira workflows, permission schemes, and screens.
• Knowledge of the Jira application framework for custom application development as well as experience leveraging the Jira API.
• Experience working in the Agile development process and good understanding of various phases of Software Development Lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Linux Operating Systems (kernel vs. user space, scheduling, bypass drivers, etc.)
• Hands-on experience in AWS (Lambda, Ec2, ELB, S3, EFS, RDS, Cloud Watch, Cloud Formation, IAM, Route53. ELB, Device form etc.)
• Experience in Devops tools like Jenkins, Gitlab, etc.
• Experience with a scripting/coding language(s) - Perl, Python, Groovy, Ruby, shell.
• Experience with a configuration management tool a plus - Puppet, Ansible, Chef.
• Experience in Monitoring/Alerting tools and platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, Pingdom, etc.
• Experience in CI/CD and workflow automation.
• Experience engineering or operating infrastructure-as-a-service platforms such as AWS, Google Compute Engine, Azure, Soft Layer, etc.

• Master s degree.
• Self-starter that enjoys learning new tools, technologies, and most of all, solving problems.
• Ability to quickly understand complex operating environments.
• AWS Operations Certifications.
• Experience to SQL, PostGres and NoSQL databases.
• Experience on SafeAgile.
• Experience on Agile to SafeAgile and Jira to Rally/JiraAlign migration.
