Job Description

Come and join us at Vestas!Product Solutions & Integration > Loads & Control > LaC Value EngineeringLoads and Control (LaC), as part of Product Solutions & Integration, is responsible for designing and optimizing the product for load and control strategy together with cross product design work. The department consists of highly skilled, international, well experienced engineers who are taking accountability for all aspects of the LaC solution delivered to the Products which are placed across 3 design locations: Portugal, Denmark and India. As a part of Vestas Power Solutions, Loads & Controls - Value engineering is responsible for assessing the loads and power performance of Turbine at various stages in the product life cycle. Our main responsibility is product customization for site specific solutions for any new project, RePowering, Power Uprates, and also for service engineering.The main deliveries from the department are load envelope to other component groups as well as commercial power performance document.LaC Value engineering is a sub department in LaC that consists of 20+ highly skilled and motivated engineers. We are responsible for delivering the loads and controls solutions to different projects in the value chain such as configuring and customizing the product as per market requirements, providing solutions to service engineering and repowering projects that has huge commercial impact in the business. The team is committed to do their very best every day and we encourage a culture where we develop breakthrough solutions with great degree of collaboration - as we believe this maximizes the value of our products. LaC Value engineering works in a global setup, where we work closely with colleagues in our functional office in Denmark and Portugal. We have many very high skilled colleagues in a social and result-oriented atmosphere.Responsibilities
    • Working with Technical Leads, Functional leads and specialists on developing load and controls solutions
    • Working closely with sales/commercial and technical/product/technology development stakeholders in developing solutions
    • Working with certification bodies like DNV to ensure profitable certification of our solutions
    • Participate in Implementation & Functional Reviews
    • Perform the RCA on load exceedances & provide the solutions
    • Provide the solution for turbine improvements on non-standard product requests, Service solutions
    • The work involves high level of engineering i.e. balancing a solution towards various specific requirements
    • You will be responsible for documenting and presenting your work in a precise way to your internal and external stakeholder
    • You are expected to contribute to process improvements with innovative solutions in order to deliver the projects more efficiently and smartly
    Qualifications
    • Masters / Bachelors in Mechanical / Structural / Civil / Aerospace / Similar specialization
    • 5 - 10 years of industrial experience in stress analysis, load analysis in Wind turbine domain
    • Deep understanding of structural dynamics, wind modelling
    • Good understanding of control systems
    • Proven history of independently carrying out the projects as per guidelines & processes from a load and control perspective
    • Hands-on experience on loads evaluation for standard platform turbines or site specific
    • Experience with the wind turbine modelling tools like Flex5, Bladed or HAWC2 (aero-elastic simulations) or similar
    • Solid competencies within innovative simulation of mechanical systems
    • Knowledge of control of mechanical systems
    Competencies
    • Experience in scrum/project management activities in following milestones and meeting deadlines
    • Basic programming
    • It is expected that you are able to coordinate engineering solutions within the area from start to end
    • You should be pragmatic and quality-conscious, eager to take up tasks, a natural deep understanding of innovation and thrive with varied tasks and constant changes from day to day
    • You achieve goals as part of a team, collaborate and share knowledge with colleagues and stakeholders
    • You shall be result oriented with a good focus on timeline with the right quality
    • Good to have experience like planning, coordinating the project
