Job Description

    The department Turbine Operations Engineering is a part of the Vestas Service organization. We are currently expanding the organization with highly qualified employees. The department is responsible for delivering service solutions on all brands enabling the service business within Vestas to fulfil its innovative, strategic targets. The service solutions vary from building new turbine platforms (rotor upgrades), Multibrand upgrades, software-based power improvement features, site specific control tuning, life extensions, pre-own turbine assessments, cost out initiatives, repair procedures, retrofits etc. The department also hold the responsibility to oversee & support the operational performances like handling field issues, CIM cases etc. We are responsible for delivering innovative solutions to ensure highest possible value to Vestas customers in the service business. The team is located in different geographical locations and is expanding to meet the demand of a growing and innovative business.ResponsibilitiesDevelopment and tuning of control algorithmsImplementation of control algorithms in MATLAB/SimulinkControl performance data analysis in turbine/fleet level controller tuning and optimizationFeasibility studies of new wind turbine products aiming at optimizing power, loads, and noise performance through innovative use of sensors, controllers and actuatorsVerification on all levels, including software tests and field testingRisk management activities such as risk assessments and failure mode and effectDevelop & support Innovation & conceptual projectsBesides these areas you also possess a broad insight and understanding of the turbine components and control strategyQualificationsPhD / Masters / Bachelors in Electrical / Electro - Mechanical / Instrumentation & controls / Controls / Similar specialization4-7 years of Working experience in Simulation/Modelling tools such as MATLAB SIMULINKSolid Competence in Mathematical modeling of Electro-Mechanical, Hydraulic SystemsWorking knowledge of Control Design and Control Tuning using a Model-Based Control ApproachCoding experience in MATLAB Scripting / C / C# / C++ / Python / Bash / etcExperience with MathWorks Auto Code generation toolchain (RTW / MATLAB coder / Simulink Coder / etc)Good Proficiency in Microsoft office wordCompetenciesSolid in Control TheoryProgramming knowledge in C++, SQLControl System Modelling, Controller Design, Controller Tuning & Controller VerificationGood knowledge in Power generation conceptsKnowledge in Aero DynamicsPreference will be given for candidate with experience in Wind Turbine Controls,
