Job Description

The position requires a quality-focused and detail-oriented hands on cloud architect (Azure) with a demonstrated track record of providing solutions for high-priority business goals and strategic management decisions. The incumbent should be a skilled troubleshooter and problem solver with the ability to architect a cloud solution, front to back, taking into consideration various aspects of the solution including redundancy, storage, costs, cloud migration, mobility, security of the application and business needs. The incumbent must be conversant with all stages of SDLC and be able to deliver results within tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• The candidate is expected to understand the existing system in detail and architect a TO BE State Data Model, based on existing model and the challenges faced there in.
• The candidate should be able to design and implement a TOP OF THE BREED Data Warehousing solution and ensure that the incoming feed is insulated from the DWH system, being implemented and ensure the DWH solution is able to store retried and present data on demand
• The candidate should architect a data model to ensure availability of quality data, readily on demand, in required format and for a period as determined by the project team.
• Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming.
• Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
• The candidate should ensure a data model wherein there is least impact to the existing upstream and downstream systems.
• Prepare accurate DB design and architecture documents and reports for stakeholders as required and on demand.
• Design and implement the migration of data from legacy systems to new solution.
• Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting and integrating new features.
• Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems, where required.
• Train other team members and stakeholders through training and individual support.
• Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with clients, data users and key stakeholders and develop and achieve various long-term objectives for data architecture.
• Determine procedure to identify and collect all required data, validate process and recommend improvements to corporate data.
• Design and implement monitoring frameworks to manage data in the DWH solution for both data integrity and accessibility.
• Map data sources and targets for data movement and analyze it to ensure appropriate integrity and quality of all data.
• Suitably address all data related issues such as system configuration and integration across platforms.
• Develop key metrics for tests on data and ensure integrity of same on data architecture.
• Prepare documents for data architecture and maintain knowledge base for the data structure.
• Candidate should help establish a data and reporting strategy that utilizes industry set of best practices, tools and frameworks to consistently and efficiently deliver information to our clients, through this custom-built application
• The candidate will work closely with the business counterparts and IT teams, across geo-locations (more specifically Chennai and HQ) and to create the IT and functional architecture.
• The candidate will also identify the current paint points that need to be addressed as part of the new data architecture and provide solutions for the same.
• The candidate will also be involved in working closely with the various IT teams, including banks enterprise architecture team, Office of Information Security, Performance monitoring team, Data Management office, to ensure that the architected solution meets the needs of all the stakeholders, from a functionality perspective and IT perspective.
• The candidate will also make presentation (using PowerPoint, vision or any other tool) to various stakeholders and management on a need basis or as and when requested.
• Create various architecture blueprints and work with the development team to deliver the vision.

Skills Must have

• The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Data Modeling and Data Architecture and technology systems, as well
• Design, Develop, Migration, Integration and configuring a robust DWH solution ie. determine database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming, while reviewing objectives with clients and evaluating current systems
• Define database physical structure and functional capabilities to accommodate data integration requirements, security, back-up, storage and recovery specifications
• Interface with the business client to understand business needs and requirements, and to help develop and maintain the client relationship on a need basis.
• Interface with the various IT teams in the Bank to ensure that the application meets all the requirements of the bank and stakeholders from multiple perspectives, including (but not limited to) Security, Redundancy, Storage, Performance, Mobile Readiness, Reporting etc.
• Build stakeholder consensus and ensure everyone is on the same page, in agreement, and can visualize the solution being proposed
• Develop business cases, requirements, enterprise architecture blue print, detailed blue print and be the principle evangelize for the bespoke solution.
• The candidate should be able to identity various solutions for a problem and provide the recommendation for a solution, based on identifiable and measurable factors.
• Document and manage issues and actions
• Provide overall support to ensure the successful Analysis, Design, Development and Deployment of a DWH solution. Also, provide support in developing training materials and conducting training from a Data Architecture and model perspective to various stakeholders.
• Document and manage issues and actions for the various IT components in the solution
• Prepare and make presentations using MS PowerPoint and Visio to project stakeholders and management
• Participate in the evaluation of new products or initiatives to determine the technology support required
• Evaluate applications and IT environments, and analyze gaps between current and desired states
• Propose recommendations based on industry best practices
• Provide estimates of level of work effort and time for completion
• Provide fully documented work, instruction, and training to peers, as required
• Interact with the Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise Platform teams to ensure that solutions are built in adherence with the defined enterprise standards in collaboration with the IT team
• Maintain overall performance of components involved in Data Integration through ETL tools like Informatica by identifying and resolving production and application development problems
• Provide support to data integration and ETL components by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems

Nice to have

• Experience of having worked in an Enterprise Data Warehouse project
• Understanding of Data Governance process and ability to identify data quality issues.
• Knowledge of reporting dashboards
