Job Description

* DB Developer & AdministratorThis position requires extensive experience in SQL server data base administratorPrimary Purpose:

  • 6+ years of experience in application development or database administration of SQL Server.
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Query Optimization.
  • Database Design in a Software Development Environment as a contributor.
  • Proficient with SQL Development ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procs, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints)
  • Thorough understanding of Relational Databases, T-SQL Scripting, Database Normalization best practices, database technologies and concepts
  • Minimum 2 years with query optimization, reviewing execution plans for poor performance
  • Monitor and tune database queries and stored procedures, paying attention to changes in application and process usage and data volume
  • Maintain and Deploy DB scripts across environments like DEV, QA, Regression and Production Environment.
  • SQL Server logical and physical design, data modeling, entity relationship modeling, development, debugging and optimization
  • Work with software and database development teams in requirements definition, design, development, deployment, maintenance and enhancement of applications with specific focus on database interaction and query performance.
  • Serve as an operational DBA for our cloud-based solutions and Assist developers with SQL issues
  • Experience working in Cloud based solutions (AWS / Azure) would be an added advantage.
  • Identification of areas of optimization and submitting recommendations to senior staff / manager
  • Demonstrate ability to pull together a well-designed, end-to-end process with knowledge of the MS-SQL product-stack (including inherent strengths and weaknesses)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and tune database configurations, ETL processes and SQL code for optimal performance is plus
  • Knowledge on warehousing best practices and methodologies is added advantage.
  • Experience working in any No SQL Data stores like mongo, Cosmos, DynamoDB would be an added advantage.
  • Must have strong software development skills in MS-SQL Server and MYSQL platforms.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming languages is a plus.
