Job Description

You as Digital - Development Engineer will be part of Hitachi ABB Power Grids business-based Chennai. You will be working into software development and operations in multi-disciplinary development projects in an international environment in mixed teams staffed by delivering successful digital solutions in context of future digital businesses of PGGI and cross business line collaboration on holistic condition monitoring architecture and products.

Your responsibilities
  • Hands on experience in developing of Software for IT or OT solutions on extended Digital Functionalities.
  • Experience in developing of software according specified work packages.
  • Knowledge on Quality Management and test Plan and execution.
  • Good experience in Verification of the results, bug fixing, Commissioning of applications, (pilot) project execution support.
  • Sound knowledge on piloting, validating, and testing of technology prototypes.
  • Contributing to technical product portfolio for all needed technology, products, sub-systems including 3rd parties and competitors.
  • Conducting and supervising delegated work and external suppliers.
  • Actively playing role in ABB digital expert boards, preparing technical papers, and participating on exhibitions and pilot projects.
  • Monitoring and communication architectures, Innovate control and protection.
  • Instructing and guiding engineering, development, and test teams.
Your background
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science.
  • 3-8 years of work experience in IoT and service-oriented architectures within RD.
  • Expertise in IoT and Digital Technologies on containerized, micro-services-based architectures on edge and cloud level.
  • Proven understanding of micro-service architectures, project implementation experience in Linux based Edge-Systems.
  • Sound knowledge of communication protocols and related technologies e.g. IEC61850, OPC UA, LoRaWAN, MQTT.
  • Hand on experience in Edge, and Cloud Technology competencies e.g. Docker, multi tenancy, REST API, Web-Protocols, HTML5.
  • Demonstrated programming depth in Python, C#, Kubernetes and Grafana, TFS, UML.
  • Proficiency in English, speaking and writing.
