Director - Ecosystem Development, In-Vehicle Operating SystemPosting Location : Location US-RemotePosting date 22 hours ago(7/11/2022 3:44 AM)Job ID 95886 Workday ID R-024840 Category Business Development, Product Management About the job The Red Hat Business team is looking for a Director of Ecosystem Development to lead a small team and help us define, build, and maintain a solid ecosystem of partners in the automotive in-vehicle market. In this role, you will serve as a key leader of the In-vehicle Operating System business team. You ll have a significant impact on Red Hat s future in this fast-paced and emerging technology sector. As a Director, you will be chartered with defining, developing, and prioritizing key partnerships and partner plays with industry leaders at a global scale. You ll also work cross-functionally to build forward-looking partnerships that will align with Red Hat s strategic business objectives. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. What you will do
• Identify and evaluate automotive in-vehicle use cases, including infotainment and autonomous driving, and technology partnership opportunities strategic to Red Hat s technologies and offerings through market research and analysis, external relationships, and other means
• Develop partnership and ecosystem development strategy based on your research, expertise, and understanding of Red Hat s strategy and goals
• Develop compelling partnership frameworks and terms that benefit both Red Hat and our partners
• Manage hardware, software, Tier-1, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partner relationships from initial discussions and relationship management to agreement closing; build solid, long-term relationships with partners to support this automotive in-vehicle initiative
• Lead agreement negotiations with partners, including developing internal preparation of terms and working with cross-functional project management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, partner, engineering, legal, business operations, marketing, and finance teams to support partnership development and management
• Coordinate with members of automotive product, technology, and regional groups to understand needs for strategic partners like OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, cloud providers, independent software vendors (ISVs), independent hardware vendors (IHVs), and public entities
• Build consensus for recommendations with internal teams and executives
What you will bring
• 10+ years of experience working in business development or partnership roles, serving as an ambassador for leading technology
• Solid viewpoint on technology ecosystem for the automotive vertical, including advanced driver assistance systems and infotainment
• Proven record of developing strategic partnerships and negotiating unique and creative partnership agreements with significant technical, legal, and commercial complexity
• Proven ability to handle ambiguity, collaborate with internal and partner contacts, and inspire cross-functional teams
• Solid analytical and reasoning skills with technical, contractual, and financial issues; impeccable business judgment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable communicating directly with senior executives (technical and product executive leadership) and working in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment
• Conceptual knowledge of modern cloud technologies like containers
• Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience; MBA or graduate degree in a management, technical, or engineering field is a plus
