Job Description

To accelerate our commercial success and deeper penetration within Korea, we are now looking for a Head of Commercial to lead, develop and coach a team of passionate commercial professionals to spearhead our growth.Reporting into the Commercial General Manager of North Asia, the Head of Commercial is responsible for the day-to-day running of both the new business and account management teams. This is a hands-on role where the Head of Commercial is expected to be meeting with prospects as well as networking with our client s senior management to understand the business issues that they face so as to take a client centric approach towards their growth. The Head of Commercial will also be expected to have a strategic view of the Korean market and uncover new prospects and growth opportunities for Mintel s business in Korea.What You Will Be Doing: Operational :
    • Owns the commercial performance and targets for Korea including sales and renewal rates.
    • Owns individual sales target as well as takes ownership to support each stages of the sales cycle by targeting Senior and C-Level conversations with consultative approach to understand client s ambitions and be able to demonstrate how Mintel support with clear ROI.
    • Owns the relationship with selective key strategic clients as well as is a representative figure for marketing events to drive the awareness of Mintel.
    • Is the central point of contact for cross-functional cooperation working with marketing, consultancy, content and client success teams to maximize business results.
    • Conducts performance reviews with commercial team and provides seasoned advice to maximize the growth of teams as well as business results.
    • Takes overall responsibility for office including organising and budgeting team events, updates and morale of the team.
    • Works directly with regional Commercial GM to report monthly performance and forecast future opportunities and losses.
    • Maintains records of all interactions with qualified prospects using our internal tracking database.
    Strategic :
    • Leads the commercial strategy to continue growth of Mintel s footprint in Korea with passion, providing recommendations to keep focus on investment for Korea.
    • Provides a clear roadmap for the mid to long term growth of Mintel in Korea including organization structure, investment needed and potential ROI.
    • Ensures succession plans are set and the right training and development plans are in place for teams.

    • Commercially-minded: You have a proven track record of delivering return on investment and achieving sales targets both individually and when leading a team. You also have understanding and experience in FMCG in Korea.
    • Great communicator : You have extremely polished verbal and written communication skills, and can adapt your communication style to suit each client, your team and across teams.
    • Short and long-term focused: You have an understanding of the immediacy of winning this month s team sales results, while making the appropriate adjustments to ensure the same for the next 6-12 months.
    • Coach : You develop and boost the team s confidence around the necessary basic sales skills, as well as coach on emerging techniques. You coach what you know, but also provoke new ideas and thinking and have formal and informal processes for coaching managers and individuals. You help individuals understand how their role fits into the broader organisation.
    • Creative problem-solver: You are able to identify complex problems based on a broad range of factors. You also are able to develop & implement optimal solutions. You establish key results, you track learnings and you embrace continuous improvement.
