Job Description

    KONE Technology organization has a global responsibility to research and develop new technologies that enable development of innovative new products. To strengthen our organization, we are looking for an Industrial Designer to join our Design team in India, Chennai. The primary work involves designing, modeling, testing, and producing prototypes. You will be involved in conceptualization, design creation and implementation of elevator interior components.As a member of a global team, communicating in English and travelling should not be a problem for you. This profile requires occasional domestic and international travel to local manufacturers, Chinese manufacturers, and Finland.Job Responsibilities:
    • We are looking for an Industrial Designer who enjoys challenges and has courage to explore new ideas.
    • An industrial designer who can work on new or existing products and use their understanding of technology, materials, and manufacturing methods to improve the aesthetics and usability of Product.
    • Your key responsibilities will be to develop initial ideas, understand market needs, develop design concepts, research, and gather information about trends and to be up to date with new developments in the design industry.
    • Ability to closely work alongside creative design team, conduct research and devise design proposals for projects.
    • Ability to work on ideas as part of a team or developing design concepts, taking part in multidisciplinary team meetings.
    • Ability to coordinate and work with model-makers and sub-contractors to build mock-ups and prototypes.
    • Strong understanding in mechanical design and manufacturing processes. Must be able to create basic prototype mechanics for advanced designs and experienced in implementing a product to manufacturing.
    • Portfolio of product designs, emphasizing Design concepts, 3D modeling, model making is necessary. We would be interested in looking at the overall thinking process behind the work that you showcase in the portfolio.
    Qualification:
    • Master s degree in Industrial Design / Product Design / Transportation Design with bachelor s degree in Architecture / Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Design / Product Design.
    • At least 3 years experience in the field of Industrial Design.
    • Proficient in 3D modeling softwares such as Rhinocersos, Blender, SolidWorks, etc.
    • Proficient in 2D sketching and rendering using softwares such as Photoshop, illustrator, Sketchbook other Adobe CC programs.
    • Proficient in photo realistic rendering softwares such as Keyshot, VRED, etc.
    • Must be strong in prototyping processes.
    • Fluent written and spoken English. Excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to work in iterative design processes from concept design to implementation.
    • Excellent skills to present and justify design solutions.
