Jr. Team Member - Platform Planning & Design

Job Description

Job Family DescriptorResponsible for the strategic planning and design of telecom infrastructure and/or network components. Analyses the short-term and/or long-term network capacity needs for current and future network requirements. This includes technology and network planning acorss multiple layers, introduction of new technologies into the network for new services and/or better network efficiency. Designs the network architecture and performs technical analysis of software, hardware, and network systems, systems engineering for front-end processors, multiplexes, LAN/WAN communications, network nodes, switches, and various transmission systems. Analyses traffic flows and trends, route planning, network optimisation, routing solutions and forecast of traffic. Performs integration with existing systems and conduct service validation prior to hand over to Service Operations team. Has knowledge on IP routers, switches, fiber optic connections, microwave wireless transmission, 2G/3G/4G, DSL and radio frequency systems, etc. The function engages with LOBs and Products Team to understand market forecast/ trends, and with relevant teams and vendors to discuss solutions and cost estimates and CAPEX optimization initiatives. Also responsible for equipment planning via rfp while working along with commercial team.Level DescriptorIs able to apply broad knowledge of one area within Platform Planning and Design or advanced knowledge of specific professional/operational practices. Checks for problems in existing systems and modifies work processes following defined procedures. Operational role responsible for achieving day-to-day objectives. Works under direct supervision No prior work related experience required Education: Engineer Experience: 0-2 yearsMinimum qualification & experience

• Bachelor of engineering degree in Electronics & Telecommunications
• Min 2 to 3 Years of experience in SDH/DWDM equipments

Other knowledge/skillsKey Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of services both at the network level and service level. Node/card integration, circuit provisioning, co-ordination with field engineers on testing, preparation for migration and execution
• Capable of identifying key issues & priorities and focusing on these to deliver required results with minimal direction and supervision
• Provide suggestions and solutions to customer on the technical issues in transmission and transport network, support them to resolve it as per their request
• Document plans, requests, activities & specifications and report on them
• Support Implementing process and technology improvements to increase operational and organizational efficiency
• Work in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders in the identification of deployment, organizational and/or procedural issues and bring about swift and effective solutions
• Follow industrys standards and best practices

Technical Competencies

• Proven work experience as a telecommunications specialist in Network Implementation & Site Closure/Optimization & NOC Operations
• Hands on experience with all telecommunications systems like PDH, SDH, DWDM & OTN technologies (Marconi SMA and 16xx family, Nortel TNxx family, Ciena 6500, Ciena 5400, Nortel 5200, Multiwave, MHL 3K, Nokia DMS & System X Switches, PDH 4/3/2 order mux and various PDH, SDH and DWDM legacy platforms) and management systems (NMS and EMS) of various vendor equipment
• Responsible for ensuring accurate data in required inventory databases (inventory systems like MORI, Cramer 8, Remedy and Clarify)
• Fair knowledge on IP data network
• Experience with design and implementation of efficient operational processes for service/resource performance and quality management
• Adequate interpersonal and organizational skills
• Experience in planning, designing, building, and implementing Core Telecom Network
