You will be part of the Standardization & Master Data within Vestas Power Solutions, Quality, Improvements & Processes - Engineering Development - Standardization & Master Data. Standardization & Master Data team is a global team primarily located in Denmark and India. Our department is responsible for guiding, defining and ensuring both short and long-term business targets are being met across platforms, modules, sub-modules and value chains to ensure the highest degree of standardized and modularized products. We are responsible for products like Standardization, RDS, Centralized Parts Creation & Master Data and Design Standards and we deliver values to our customers through digitalization and implementation of engineering tools, methods and processes.Also, we are responsible for developing and promoting strategy roadmap & projects and centralized governance for standard components, Base & Raw materials, New Parts Creation & Enrichment, Reference Designation Systems (RDS) and Design Standards & External Standards across wind industries to encourage continuous improvement across the value chain.Responsibilities
    • To Evaluate New Part request (NPR)/ New material creation process & guide designers to use standard components & Vestas standard base materials
    • The primary activities are based on CAD model, documentation, UNSPSC classification attributes & material description
    • Analyze and review UNSPSC & attributes values/Technical data
    • Will act as a gatekeeper to authorize/approve technical data in NPR
    • Investigate if Vestas have an identical/duplicate component in our system already
    • Decide if requested component complies with the rules described for each commodity & suggest the suitable material standardization Preference code
    • Be able to evaluate if commonly known standard components looks like requested material
    • In a dialog with requester, clarify any details are missing in request and to inform requester about duplicate components or missing compliance with rules
    • Enriching the EU tax commodity code & Traceability and Spend class attributes
    • Ensure Master Data Governance and quality
    Qualifications
    • Bachelors / Masters in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Similar engineering
    • 8-10 years of relevant engineering experience from WTG domain or Engineering industries like Aerospace / Automotive / Energy Sector
    • Experienced in General Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
    • Exposure to wide variety of products/components in wind turbine.
    • Basic project / task management experience.
    • Knowledge of standardization methodologies and best practices.
    • Exposure to global standards like ISO, EN, ASTM, GB, ECCMA and IS standards.
    Competencies
    • Good knowledge in Mechanical components (motors, pumps, transport, construction and service tools, fittings, gears, fasteners etc)
    • Good knowledge in product design and product value chain (e.g., New product development)
    • Good knowledge in understanding components specifications (Technical specification, drawings, etc)
    • Good knowledge on global Industry standards and practices
    • Experience in Product Life Cycle & Process Management
    • Basic skills on Tools and process (SAP, PDMlink and PLM)
    • Basic CAD for viewing 3D models
    • Good Technical task coordination skills
    • Should be self-focused, focused, and Systematic
    • Good presentation and communication skills in English
