Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies and people around the world.You will join our Structures departmentAs a Lead Engineer in the Offshore Substation structures, you will be reporting to our HOD (Structure) of the Chennai office as well as the Head of Department for Offshore Structures.As Lead - Your primary role will be to perform the offshore substation Topside engineering/design activities. The team will function as a Global Engineering Centre (GEC) that will provide services globally. You will perform all technical design activities and be responsible for the execution of projects. You will lead and mentor engineers and another part of the job will be to contribute to tendering activities.Your other tasks will be distributed in to 3 key areas to:Description of main responsibilities and tasks in the jobThe tasks consist of both advanced global analyzes and local steel design (detail-oriented). The work he/she provide will have to be of high quality and complete. The primary tasks will be within the design and assessment of topside structure.The following are the distribution of his / her work.

• Reinforcement/reassessment of existing Topsides substation and made a feasibility report (30%)
• Detail design of large offshore substation steel structures (20%)
• Installation/removal design e.g. design of lifting appliances, preparation of lifting procedures, lifting method feasibility study using 3D CAD etc. (15%)
• Preparation of CTR for new projects (15%)
• Interdisciplinary coordination and project management (10%)
• As senior there will be task as coach/mentor for junior employees at the department in design and analysis. Check their calculations and reports and continuously improve their skills via professional discussions. Typically, 1-3 younger colleagues at the time. (10%)

The other activity is listed as follows.

• Interdisciplinary coordination, coordination with site & Vendor document review.
• Evaluate manpower requirements; develop manpower plans, charts and schedules. Recommend, assign and allocate manpower for the execution of engineering activities within the budgeted project man-hours. Recommend cost effective measures to reduce overall manpower costs.
• Coordinate with projects and planning departments on schedule related issues.
• Preparation of design documentation (Design reports, manual calculations, excel, Mathcad, etc.)
• Giving guidance to Engineer for installation analyses (e.g. Lifting, Transportation & load out), Reinforcement of topsides, Design of secondary and temporary steel such as deck structure, lifting points, helideck etc.
• Travel activity can become a part of it (max- 10-20 days per year) Denmark, Middle East, Norway Service band strategy
• Function as a lead on subproject received from ROGE Topside Substation department
• Preform quality check and Review/approval of documents.

• Minimum 8-10 years experience in design of steel structures for oil & gas company.
• Bachelor of Engineering /Master of Engineering structural.
• Good knowledge in Structural Analysis software such as Staad Pro.
• Knowledge in Finite Element Analysis Software such as Ansys is preferable.
• Advantage with experience from the oil and gas India or Middle East.
• Preferred with experience in Offshore Substation Design (Topside)
• Possess Strong analytical abilities and a desire to engage in the development of our technical capabilities.
• Have good English skills in written and oral
• Have good presentation skills and writing technical reports.
