Job Description

    Medical coders responsible in finding the codes for the procedure / diagnosis available in the document with reference to/ with assistance of CPT, ICD 10 CM, HCPCS code books approved by AMA, WHO and CMS.Medical coders should possess a very good knowledge about the medical terminologies and abbreviations in order to understand the medical documentation for which codes must be taken.Medical coders should have the knowledge about the ICD 10 CM coding guidelines and CPT/ HCPCS guidelines.Medical coders should get updated on the CMS updates / individual insurances updates and guidelines.Medical coders should be aware of the compliance audit concept so that he/ She could review the documentation and could verify the codes captured appropriate.If anything, missing on the documentation / additional code can be coded for the scenario should bring it to manager notice.
