Portfolio Communications Specialist - Operational ReadinessPosting Location : Location Remote US NCPosting date 2 days ago(7/7/2021 10:40 AM)Job ID 87992 Job summary The Red Hat Enterprise Apps Strategy and Transformation (EAST) team, a part of the IT team, is looking for an Portfolio Communications Specialist to join us and support comms delivery for our growing cross-functional portfolio team. In this role, you will focus on delivering key messages that bring people along the journey of the strategic and transformational changes introduced by some of our company s most disruptive, complex, and critical programs and delivering against our strategic pillars. You will be responsible for delivering, managing, and monitoring these messages to increase awareness across multiple programs and at the portfolio level and promote employee and customer adoption of changes. You ll work with a team of Operational Readiness associates, including a Communications strategist and an Organizational Change Management Lead. Your primary focus will be supporting the creation, management, and delivery of communications artifacts that share the mission, vision, strategy, and key messages that support this new organization s objectives. Communications should aid our team in delivering great customer experiences. You will also support the internal portfolio team communication needs and specific program communication needs in collaboration with other resources assigned to this work, like other comms specialists, project managers, and coordinators. We ll need you to be motivated to engage with global stakeholders and the portfolio team, agile in response to changes and needs of various stakeholders, and analytical in identifying risks, opportunities, and dependencies. Ideally, you should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven experience in portfolio or program communications, and can write for a variety of internal channels. Finally, you ll have experience with developing and deploying change management-driven communications in a corporate setting in support of large-scale initiatives and projects. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. Primary job responsibilities

  • Deliver against the portfolio communications strategy and engage program associates in its implementation
  • Deliver against the internal portfolio communications ecosystem and engage content subject matter experts and manage these channels in partnership with others
  • Partner closely with change consultants, communications experts, learning consultants, and project managers to design integrated communications
  • Create and edit content that is aligned to business objectives and the needs of target audiences
  • Consult with the Red Hat Internal Communications team to assure that all communications fall within Red Hat guidelines
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to assess the effectiveness of communications activities
  • Support the development of abstracts, presentations, emails, and online content that will enable the portfolio to present its progress, plans, accomplishments, and learnings in a broader context to our key stakeholders and Red Hat associates globally
  • Foster and demonstrate a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, driving innovation, and exceeding expectations
  • Collaborate, consult, and build solid working relationships
Required skills
  • Degree in communications, marketing, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of business or internal communications delivery experience
  • Familiarity with business readiness or business operations mechanisms and structures
  • Proven writing and editing skills with an ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, direct and lively style
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with associates, colleagues, and cross-functional teams and third parties
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of stakeholders and audiences
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships
  • Flexible and adaptable; ability to work in ambiguous situations
  • Forward looking with a holistic approach
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels in an organization
  • Acute business acumen
  • Experience in large, complex global business transformation programs is a plus
