Senior Software Engineer - Kubernetes Multi-Cluster NetworkingPosting Location : Location ES-RemotePosting date 13 hours ago(9/1/2021 6:55 AM)Job ID 89090 Workday ID R-015173 Job summary The Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will focus on multi-cluster networking and the Submariner project . You will work as a member of a diverse team of bright engineers who are enthusiastic about the latest hybrid cloud networking and Kubernetes technologies and who want to push the quality of our offerings onward through innovation and collaboration. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business. Primary job responsibilities

  • Participate in Submariner and related container networking communities by developing, testing, and documenting new features
  • Contribute and lead feature implementations in a collaborative manner, accounting for open source community participation like creating design proposals and pull requests while paying attention to community feedback
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams on integrating Submariner into Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes
  • Write automated tests and incorporate them into our continuous integration (CI) systems
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Resolve customer issues
  • Educate the team on new features through sprint reviews and demonstrations
  • Represent the Submariner project in public events and virtual conferences
Required skills
  • Working experience with Linux networking; familiarity with protocols like Ethernet, ARP, IP, VXLAN, DHCP, and DNS, and tools like network namespaces, iptables, tcpdump, and Open vSwitch (OVS)
  • Software development experience, preferably in Golang, alternatively C, Java, or Python
  • Understanding of containers technology and container orchestration solutions like Kubernetes and Docker
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to communicate and collaborate with upstream community members outside of the team and company
  • Fast learner with the ability to work with various open source technologies
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote and distributed work pattern
The following are considered a plus:
  • Working experience with Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, and container-based applications
  • Working experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
