Software Engineer - OpenShift Data Science Performance and Scale TeamPosting Location : Location ES-RemotePosting date 3 days ago(2/11/2022 4:47 AM)Job ID 94292 Category Software Engineering About the job The Red Hat Performance and Scale Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Red Hat OpenShift Data Science (RHODS) Performance and Scale team in Spain. In this role, you will work as part of a team responsible for improving the performance and scalability of our RHODS managed cloud service (upstream opendatahub.io) through benchmarking, data analysis, debugging, data visualization, and building automation tools. You will be required to formulate and execute performance test plans, investigate Linux, Red Hat OpenShift, cloud infrastructure, and RHODS performance tuning knobs and publish results on a regular basis. You will also have the opportunity to enhance or create benchmarking tools, develop automation, and build a Continuous Performance Evaluation framework to make us more productive. You ll need to be an engineer who thinks creatively, adapts to rapid change, and has the willingness to learn and apply new technologies. You will join a vibrant open source culture and you ll help promote performance and innovation in this Red Hat engineering team. What you will do
• Execute performance and scalability benchmarks against RHODS managed cloud service
• Collaborate on building a Continuous Performance Evaluation framework using in-house developed code and external applications like Jenkins, Apache Airflow, Elasticsearch, and Grafana
• Build and execute performance test plans against new features of our offerings in RHODS
• Collaborate with the Development and Quality Engineering (QE) teams to resolve performance issues in the RHODS service (pre-release)
• Triage, debug, and solve customer cases related to RHODS performance
• Publish results, conclusions, recommendations, and best practices via documents and blogs to the support team, partners, and customers
• Participate in internal and external conferences about your work and results
What you will bring
• 2+ years of relevant technical experience
• Experience running performance tests and with data capture, analysis, and visualization in a managed cloud service environment
• Experience with Elasticsearch for data storage and Grafana for data visualization
• Programming experience in Python or willingness to learn
• Familiarity with the Linux operating system; Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Fedora, or CentOS are a plus
• Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies and frameworks, including classifiers, pytorch, tensorflow, etc.
• Good written and verbal language skills in English
The following are considered a plus:
• Experience with container technologies like podman, Kubernetes, or Docker
• Experience with system performance engineering and metrics collection tools like iostat, vmstat, sar, perf, and prometheus
• Knowledge of AI and ML benchmarking suites like mlperf and GPU programming
