Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • To work on projects relating to day-to-day operations of Data Management to keep the data clean, consistent and streamlined.
  • Assist project team members on ongoing Global Projects.
  • Re-engineer the current process to stream line or eliminate potential failure modes or manual intervention in day-to-day operations.
  • Problem solve and Trouble shoot in day-to-day operations.
  • Ability to shift perspective from high level Big Picture to low-level detail
  • The ability to present and absorb complex ideas quickly and accurately
  • Train team members and groom them to be Subject Matter experts.
  • Proactively identify potential operational risks, suggest mitigation strategy to manager and lead the implementation of the agreed upon mitigation strategy
  • Work as part of a team, ensuring SLA s (Service Level Agreement), all relevant regulations are met and maintained, escalating issues to Supervisors / Team Managers.
  • Services internal clients (such as: portfolio managers, traders, compliance, Portfolio Reconciliations) within Invesco globally by executing tasks outlined in the Security Master Global Support Service Catalogue. Sample tasks include the set up, maintenance, review and validation of security master, brokers, portfolio / accounts and market data elements.
  • Perform independent research, review and analysis of financial statements, organizational structure, business model, operational risks, performances and securities / financial instruments issued by organizations we invest in.
  • Research, recommend and lead data standard enhancement initiatives and automation/continuous improvement of daily operations processes
  • Validate and ensure data override requests conform to Invesco s Data Standard; conduct research / analysis and escalate issue to appropriate Data Governance bodies as needed
  • Ensure data are reconciled between various internal systems
  • Research into new security instruments to determine support procedures
  • Overtime, off hours support and travel may be required
  • Research and provide recommendations for the automation and improvement of daily process
  • Proactively contribute ideas and participate in the continual improvement initiatives within Data Management
  • Provide support on corporate actions, Pricing and security valuation operational tasks as needed / defined by manager
  • The ability to provide solutions to a tight deadline
  • Participate in data reconciliation process between various internal systems as needed
  • Serve as a mentor to Sr. Data Management Administrator and DMA I & II
  • Ability to do seamless work transition from different Invesco offices.
  • Develop relationship with data vendors and Invesco data users to provide support as appropriate
  • Maintain and update documentation on Data Management s global operational procedures
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing and rollout support on upgrade / enhancement of the applications used by Data Management.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment Hours include alternate shift work, evenings and/or weekends and may include 24 hour a day on call support by cell phone Participate in Business Recovery testing on an as-needed basis as defined by manager WORK EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE: 6+ Years Investment Operations Industry Experience Excellent Knowledge of Investment products globally is required Must have a general understanding of the end-to-end investment services processes such as trade entry, trade process, settlement, valuation, corp action processing and fund account Must have a strong understanding on the impact of different characteristics of a security has on downstream data consumers and business functions (e.g. Compliance, Risk, Performance) Strong MS Office skills in particular MS Excel, MS Word SKILLS / OTHER PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED: Business Acumen: The ability to understand the business implications of decisions and the desire to improve organizational performance.
