Product Solutions & Integration - Loads & Control - LaC QualityDescribe the Department As a part of Vestas Power Solutions, the DC LaC Product Improvement department in Design Centre, Chennai is responsible for the calculation of loads, power curves for the standard products. We are also responsible for customized site-specific solutions for any new project and continuous improvements for the existing fleet. The main deliveries from the department are load envelope to other component groups as well as commercial power performance document. Currently, the department consists of 20+ highly skilled and motivated engineers situated in Chennai. DC LaC Product Improvements in Design Centre, Chennai works in a global setup, you will be cooperating with colleagues in our functional office in Aarhus, Denmark, and Porto. You will have many very high skilled colleagues in a social yet result-oriented atmosphere.Responsibilities Required You will be part of a team providing Loads and Power Performance engineering solutions to non-standard products and existing products improving loads, power curves, and noise for standard and non-standard products, root cause analysis, and problem-solving related to turbines in operation, support development. The work involves a high level of engineering i.e. balancing a solution towards various specific requirements. Scope the loads activity for tasks comes to this team. You will mainly work on reviewing time series analysis and conclusions from the team. You will be responsible for documenting and presenting your work in a precise way to your internal and external stakeholder You will be responsible to supervise the projects in alignment with STL, represent LaC Quality Loads in technical & peer-review on the platform projects. You are expected to contribute to process improvements with innovative solutions in order to deliver the projects more efficiently, a regular workshopQualifications Qualifications Required M.Sc/M.tech or similar in Mechanical engineering, structural engineering, aerodynamics, computational engineering, civil engineering or similar 12 - 15 years of industrial experience (Wind experience is good to have)Competencies Proven previous experience in carrying out the projects as per guidelines & processes from a load and control perspective Hands-on experience on loads evaluation for standard platform turbines or site-specific Experience with the wind turbine modeling tools like Flex5, Bladed or HAWC2 (aero-elastic simulations) Good competencies within a dynamic simulation of mechanical systems Knowledge of control of mechanical systems Knowledge of strength calculations Experience in scrum setup following milestones and meeting deadlines It is expected that you are able to coordinate engineering solutions within the area from start to end. You should be pragmatic and quality-conscious, eager to take up tasks, a natural ability for innovation, and thrive with varied tasks and constant changes from day today.
