This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.The Role ResponsibilitiesThe role would be responsible for strategizing, managing and making a significant contribution in the creation of all the communications from the team to its stakeholder groups which will often consist of senior executives in the business, operations and technology departments of the firm. The job holder will create communication strategies to increase employee awareness and promote productivity internally. Externally, they will communicate with the stakeholders and other interested parties to announce new deliveries, new products and organisational changes in a way that attempts to maintain a positive image of the team. It is expected that the role will work closely with the TB Technology leadership team to come up with effective communications that allow the right level of marketing and narrative for the team s achievements, challenges and its journey towards its long term goals. This could consist of regular updates and newsletters, a revamp of the teams bridge site, share point sites and so on. It would be left to the job holders creative spirit to come up with strategies that are effective for the team, that raise the bar and are aligned with our core values and aspirations, that are culturally sensitive and of a very high standard, as expected at a regulated firm such as Standard Chartered.

  • manage the overall communications strategy of TB T&I change or transformation initiatives, from designing the editorial calendar, drafting the contents, and broadcasting it to target audience through several channels
  • work with several TB teams to align their book of work, roadmap, and project plans to the overall TB communications plan and to support them with their communication needs
  • oversee TB communication channels and distribution lists to ensure communications are sent to proper target audience
  • support the communication needs of the team, including leadership, change release, or data metrics communications as required
  • ensure effective engagement of stakeholders through success stories and user adoption/feedback editorials in several communication methods
  • coordinate with different teams and stakeholders for cross-functional, joint leadership and other similar messaging
  • manage TB newsletter and other relevant newsletters within the team when necessary
  • manage TB Bridge spaces to ensure all contents are updated, relevant, and organized assist in organizing periodical team engagement such as TB townhalls, teambuilding events, and the like
  • stay updated with the overall Bank and business strategies and campaigns to ensure alignment of team communications
  • Produce high quality, easy to understand materials and communications as and when required
  • Commission videos, illustrations, photos, info graphs and other relevant media techniques, incorporating them into communication material to make it stand out and be appropriately absorbed by the intended audience
  • Work with project teams to create outstanding material for winning pitches for project sponsorship / funding and other initiatives that are often time sensitive
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the audience and the communication required by working with the appropriate SMEs to gain insights into their work and their stakeholders
  • Research and build knowledge about the firm s products, services, technology and other concepts that may require communicating about
  • Distribute executive messages, prepare presentations and internal memos, and conduct meetings to share information internally and externally as required
  • Develop print materials or other media and branding strategies for internal use
  • Be able to proofread, scrutinise and edit own work and the work of others so it is of a consistently high standard
  • Coach and mentor other members of the team so as to bring up overall quality standards and consistency of communications across the team in all its internal and external communication
  • Understand the characters and people that make up the teams and showcase their stories to bring our hard working delivery teams into the spot light at the appropriate times

Our Ideal CandidateA bachelors degree in communications, marketing, public relations or a relevant field and some experience are necessary for the job. A proven track record of effective marketing and communications, some of it with firms or teams related to technology and large scale technology project delivery would be preferred. Others include:
  • Skilled in the use of content and media creation software and other tools of the trade
  • Expert in creating presentations, pitches and campaigns
  • Understanding of technology
  • High standard of written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and a good understanding of people
  • Ability to make the most out of conversations with people at all levels of the organisation
  • Good understanding in the use of other basic software such as the MS Office toolset
  • Time management
  • Strong analytical and comprehension skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at appropriate level
  • Proactive, independent, resourceful and team player
