About the opportunityDepartment DescriptionData Value team comprises of Fidelity s MI and Analytics capability team in India and is a strategic area targeted for growth over the coming years. The portfolio of projects will include a large collection of strategic initiatives as well as tactical ones to support day-to-day operations and strengthen the environment by providing the insights required.The team helps deriving the value from the data.Purpose of the RoleThis role is for a Senior Analyst Programmer who can understand complex functional, technical requirements and has the ability to understand the implications associated with the chosen technical strategy well aligned with the business context. The successful candidate would carry out reporting/visualization development/enhancement and work with a high performing team in an individual contributor role to imlement BI and Analytical solutions. The successful candidate will be expected to interact with all levels of the business and technical community.Key Responsibilities
• Work with Product Owner/BA to understand business/functional requirements, feasibility analysis, preparing estimates and defining technical solutions/prototypes to a business proposition
• Develop, maintain and manage insights driven, interactive and dynamic visualization dashboards using Power BI desktop
• Conducting unit tests and develop complex SQL queries to troubleshoot any issues
• Define and implement technology quality controls, best practices and standard processes
• Build and manage subscription, scheduling and data driven alert framework
• Design and develop visualization dashboards across device layouts (Mobile, iPad etc)
• Design and implement object and data level security
• Seek necessary inputs and provide necessary guidance to ETL team to create high performing database designs for excellent report response time
• Performance improvement and Auditing (usage stats)
• Prepare implementation plan and coordinate with various teams to deploy codes to different environment
• Coordinate with testing teams to review technical test cases and closure of defects
• Coordinate with DBA team and provide input from the development perspective for the set-up, Installation and configuration of the Power BI platform environment
• Integrate Power BI platform with various data sources like databases, files, API etc.
• Integration of Power BI dashboards into other Applications
Experience and Qualifications RequiredNecessary Skills are:
• 5-7 years of experience in delivering at least 2-3 project in visualization & reporting applications
• At least 4 years of experience in Power BI Desktop with direct ownership of Power BI implementations.
• Working knowledge of the Reporting/Visualization Architecture and different toolset capabilities within BI including Power BI.
• Experience creating different visualizations using Lines, Pies, histogram, Maps, Scatter, Bubbles, Heat Maps, Waterfall, Treemaps etc.
• Experience doing writing complex calculations using DAX (Aggregate, Date, Logical, String, Expressions)
• Proven knowledge of working with various Power BI Desktop functionalities (Filters, Hierarchies, Sorting, Parameters, Custom Groups, slicers, bookmarks etc.)
• Exposure to Power BI service for set up & administration (managing project, workbooks, data sources, user groups, data security, subscriptions, schedules, alerts etc.)
• Experience connecting Power BI to various data sources - snowflake, oracle, Hadoop, MS Excel, CSV, SQL server etc. with live connection and extracts.
• Experience in data preparation & transformation using Power BI query editor & ability to code in M query language for various purposes like creating joins, joins with custom SQL and blending data from different data sources.
• Experience in Power BI embedding & Power BI Rest API
• Hands on system software analysis, development, testing and experience in reporting stream (preferably visualization & analytics)
• Ability to organize, prioritize and plan their own work, while aligning with project priorities and changes to priorities
• Experience working in a fast paced and agile environment
• Person should be a B-Tech, MBA or MCA in relevant stream from reputed institute
Preferable Skills are:
• Power BI Certification
• Experience of other BI tools like Tableau
• Working knowledge of API, Python/R
• Knowledge of financial services domain (mutual funds and fund accounting)
• Experience in any configuration management tools.
• Familiarity with the Mutual Funds and Investment Management industry.
