Job Description

Expedia Technical Operations Analyst Team description: EPS Partner Operations team is responsible for providing end to end operational, analytical and technical support for all EPS products to meet our commitments to our partners and their customers. We strive to provide stable and scalable products to meet the business needs of numerous partners.Business Contribution/Impact: Partner operations team monitors the environment detecting anomalous behaviours in product performance or availability.

  • Build operational tools and processes to support health of EPS products in order to report capabilities on data collected across incidents
  • Provide real-time performance visualization along with regular site performance dashboards to partners.
  • Proactively identify, prioritize and raise product operational issues
  • Monitor failed live-site interactions to ensure availability of our products
  • Engage with tier 1 support as well as development teams to resolve larger issues and prevent smaller issues from worsening.
  • Use incident data to measure, plan and drive availability and resiliency improvements based on business values
  • Heavy engagement with incident and problem management processes
What you ll do:
  • Support the production environment through proactive monitoring, identifying anomalies or abnormal trends, and collaborating with development and engineering teams to resolve issues
  • Support incident response on critical applications and infrastructure issues
  • Analyze user experience patterns to understand their business and technology requirements and work with Technology and Product teams to motivate change
  • Perform application log analysis and develop improvements that allow applications to better instrument for availability and performance (uptime, success rate, and user experience)
  • Build custom alerts, dashboards and reports needed for the development, engineering, and operations teams
  • Provide analysis and reporting for major incidents, SLAs, SLIs, SLOs, etc to key partners
  • Support launches of new partners and services
Who you are:We are looking for someone who has
  • A curious mind and interest to understand the nuances of a highly sophisticated technology
  • Understanding of Technical Operations workflows supporting incident management, production readiness and deployment, bring together failed customer interactions from live site monitors and identify signals for a better customer experience
  • 2 years experience on an operationally focused team in Website Operations, Application Support, or similar position OR Bachelors/Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience
  • Experience with application and service monitoring tools, such as Splunk, DataDog, Catchpoint, CloudWatch, Dynatrace, etc.
  • Experience working with several teams on incident resolution in an efficient manner
  • Understanding of large-scale systems from a reliability perspective
  • Superb interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment
  • Experience in scripting or coding is a plus (Python, R, JS, etc)
  • Experience using agile work management tools such as Jira, Trello or equivalent
  • Critical thinking skills and logical reasoning abilities are important for being effective in the role
  • Implementing the scientific method with the ability to correlate various data sources to strengthen investigation results with multiple lines of evidence
  • Use of good judgment and attention to detail to identify issues, perform analysis and share findings with product, engineering and business teams
  • Capable of efficiently prioritizing and executing tasks in an evolving environment
  • A strong commitment and willingness to learn as well as share your knowledge with the team
  • Excellent written and verbal English skill
  • Understanding of customer lifecycle, experiences and its drivers on platform sites such as Google, Amazon
  • Understanding of product campaigns, Test and Learns performed on products
  • Familiarity with distributed systems in cloud, such as: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills experience pulling, manipulating, and deriving insight off of data; SQL, Tableau, Omniture, Splunk, Qubole (data lake platforms)
  • Coding/scripting skills to automate manual efforts
