Operations, Services and Technology combines global expertise and technology to help keep us ahead of the competition.The Chief Control Office (CCO) plays an important role in enabling the bank to operate within its risk appetite, by ensuring efficient and effective risk and control management.The Senior Business Manager will report to and support the Operations Manager, DBS CCO in the execution of the following duties on behalf of the DBS CCO function:

  • Support in overseeing the business service performance, best practice frameworks and liaising with key stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of the strategic plan and delivery of strategic initiatives for the transformation of the CCO function.
  • Play key role in supporting the DBS CCO with the build out and maintenance of the bank wide cross functional CCO/NFR community.
  • Drive the execution of business initiatives and change activities in support of the CCO strategy, which may include organisational design, technology, people / culture initiatives, and compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide operational management support for the execution of the CCO strategy and liaison between the CCO leadership team and key stakeholders globally.
  • Lead and/or support the delivery of ad-hoc projects to improve quality of strategic planning, accountability, and governance.
  • Provide administration services for key meetings attended or chaired by the Global Head of CCO, this may include undertaking secretariat duties and managing actions.
What youll do: Performance:
  • Liaise with stakeholders across DBS, Global Functions and Businesses to proactively identify and resolve challenges to the delivery of CCO objectives.
  • Prepare management reports, presentations and papers to provide periodic updates for the Global Head of CCO, as required.
  • Support the active management of the CCO service delivery performance metrics and best practice frameworks.
  • Identify issues / areas of concern for the CCO Senior Leadership team and develop recommendations for action, including conducting the necessary research, trigger reviews, presentations and period updates.
  • Play a key role in the stewardship of the wider CCO operating model, service catalogue, procedures and toolkits.
Transformation:
  • Support the implementation of the 2026 vision and strategy for the DBS CCO function.
  • Support the design and implementation of the DBS CCO function location strategy.
  • Play a key role in supporting the DBS CCO Transformation portfolio including working with DBS CCO to prioritise investment, writing & presenting business cases and tracking the delivery of investment spend and benefits realisation.
  • Ensure the wider DBS CCO function is connected and aligned with DCOO, DBS and other bank wide transformation initiatives.
  • Support the CCO Stewardship framework in driving consistency across CCO functions bank wide.
  • Embed risk culture and change delivery capability across the CCO function.
  • Own and support continuous improvement of processes, policies and tooling across CCO.
Stakeholders:
  • Effectively support and manage the stakeholder relationships across DBS stakeholders and Business / Entity CCO communities.
  • Engage with stakeholders across CCO to support delivery of CCO objectives, ensure all regulatory and legal commitments are met and provide proactive issue management.
Leadership and Teamwork:
  • Lead by example, demonstrate core behaviour and values including professionalism, teamwork, focus, drive and determination.
  • Ensure effective and open communication across CCO service pillars.
  • Cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the CCO strategy.
  • Leverage services provided by CCO service pillars to effectively deliver responsibilities.
Operational Effectiveness & Control:
  • Reassess continually the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology and services.
  • Adhere to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
Requirements Whatyou will need to succeed in the role:
  • Comprehensive understanding of HSBC structures, processes and objectives across the Group.
  • Proven project management experience with an ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Educated to graduate degree level in business management and/or strategy related field or associated relevant business experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to succeed within a matrix management structure.
  • Ability to engage with colleagues and business partners collaboratively to deliver at pace.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, demonstrate flexibility and adapt to rapidly changing priorities and tasks that are potentially highly restricted in nature, unpredictable, wide ranging and complex.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in simple language to support problem analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Digital Business Services or similar functions in other organisations - functionally, operationally and financially.
  • Experience of working in management consulting is advantageous.
