About the opportunity This role may require travel and short to medium term secondments to interstate and international offices to support the broader Jacobs business as required. The primary responsibilities of the role are: Significant technical input and direction in the design and management of Rail Signalling infrastructure for metro and freight heavy rail Significant contribution towards the development, design and facilitate the documentation of Rail Signalling engineering solutions in response to a client s brief to an industry standard Significant contribution towards the preparation of the signalling design (SAP, bonding, cable running, control tables etc) Checking of detailed signalling design (Circuit design, location cases etc) Data design for computer based interlocking applications Supports the checking and approval of medium to large signalling designs Lead testing of signalling systems Supports Rail Signalling design in accordance with relevant local and Australian Standards Supports the coordination and communication of Rail Signalling with other disciplines Provides significant contribution towards the preparation of design drawings, technical specifications and design /project reports Maintain the development of good relationships with colleagues and clients, both internal and external to support successful project outcomes Support project/design manager in the control/reporting of project Maintain competency in the field of Rail Signalling engineering and stay up-to-date with contemporary practice and trends in the industry. Provide mentorship of junior and mid-level engineers and take an active role in the team s technical development and standing in the industry. Support the liaison with key clients and contractors Practice ethically and professionally. Design management of small to medium signalling packages The role involves complete design system for oversea projects and able to work under environment of Global integration delivery. Responsible for coordination with overseas client to deliver the project with in defined timeline. The role may involve working on secondment to other consultants, Government Rail Agencies or in Alliances / D&C arrangements in project or various Jacobs offices. About you ME/ M.Tech-Electrical / BE/B.Tech 1 to 4 years work experience -Technical and DevelopmentStrong capability in:Signalling design and T&C - ARO competenciesDelivery of Rail projects in D&C and/or Alliance arrangementsComputer Based Interlocking designStrong working knowledge of the ARO standardsStrong understanding of the multi-disciplinary interfaces with Signaling systems.Strong understanding of technical standards for design, construction and maintenanceWorking knowledge of the Victorian Rail Industry environment, relevant industry, particularly working in ANZ regions.,
