Job Description

A Cargo surveyor is normally appointed by the Cargo Owner, but he may be appointed by the cargo receivers, owners, insurers or any other stake holders in the industry. His job varies from determining the actual cargo loaded on board or to check the condition of the cargo as being loaded / discharged.Cargo surveyors are impartial intermediaries who provide professional analyses on the condition, insurability, as well as scope and cause of damage of ships and their cargo.Marine cargo surveying involves checks on all sizes of ships ranging from pleasure yachts of lengths shorter than 20 metres to tankers over 200 metres long. Surveyors must perform these tasks in order to determine the potential risks with the associated marine venturesWhat is the role of surveyor in case cargo is damaged during transit in a export shipment A certified marine surveyor can be appointed at the location where damaged cargo is available.
