These functions cover Flow and Exotics desks globally.The Mumbai team sits at the heart of support functions for the business, executing critical Middle Office functions. Candidate need to be energetic and proactive individuals with strong leadership skill to support our Global Rates business. The role will include overseeing daily BAU activity, managing market changes & various other project initiatives. Daily interaction with key partners such as Traders, PNL, Finance, Technology, Audit & ORM. There will be opportunities to participate in a range of regional & global projects including any process improvement initiatives Vice President, Rates Derivative Operations, Mumbai Responsible for managing Rates Derivatives Operations functions in Mumbai. This is a critical role for the business that ensures essential controls are being followed accurately and within agreed time frames
• Investigating trade break queries raised by Back office, analyzing trade booking / recaps, amending trades in risk management & working with Front Office to assess PNL impact
• Performing various control functions to ensure trade values in risk management are in sync with Risk, PNL & downstream applications
• Ensuring timely and accurate issuance of confirmation documents to client
• Partner with Change Management teams to drive firm wide strategic re engineering projects
• Drive firm & industry wide projects by partnering with various project leads globally
• Review key metrics to measure controls, workflow capacity, system & team efficiency
• Generate efficiencies by reviewing existing processes, improving STP & increasing capacity
• Manage day-to-day processes across staff members including providing regular feedback, performance reviews and career development opportunities
Qualities we are looking for
• 12+ years in a Derivative Operations Middle Office role
• Base level background should be on processes such as refixing, novations, reconciliations and other core trade support functions
• Strong product knowledge; thorough understanding of the end to end transaction cycle for Rates derivative products like IRS, FRA s, OIS, Basis swaps
• Strong communications skills both verbal and written
• Build strong working relationships across global cross functional teams, including Front Office
• Partnering with global & local partners on projects, efficiency and business change (new products, industry change)
• Ability to drive results through a hands-on approach
• Ability to manage a team of high achievers with diverse experience and skill sets. Successful in team environments with matrix reporting structures
• Skilled in identifying talent, recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and developing team members
• Can operate effectively in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines, and can prioritize ones own work to achieve them
