Job Description

    Key Responsibilities of an Estimating ManagerEstimating engineer helps in estimating the cost of the project after researching and gathering all the relevant details about the project. An estimating manager helps the company in giving high level services and ensures that the company progresses in the right direction. Let us have a look at the key responsibilities that need to be handled by an estimating manager:. To assist in developing and estimating business processes that will ensure applicability at the project level. To actively participate in the management of various tenders. To review and complete the bid forms and ensure that they are within the given specifications. To perform evaluation of bids and provide the pricing in a timely manner. To conceptualize layouts for the project and review all estimates before they are being submitted. To closely monitor the results of the tenders and update them in the tender register. Lead, develop, and evaluate a team of building products estimating specialists including quality control compliance on outgoing estimates, training specialists on layout and costing of multiple products, and establishing project priorities. Develop process enhancements and coach specialist performance to drive incremental revenue and profits through the bid to order process. Drive accuracy and response time improvements through process innovation and implementationQualifications for estimating manager:
    • Passion for preconstruction and estimating
    • Knowledge of estimating practices and procedures, home office construction support functions, such as rigging, quality, turnover and commissioning, and safety
    • Bachelors of Science degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience
    • A minimum5 years estimating experience
    • 10 or more years experience preparing estimates for Department of Energy projects, particularly nuclear material processing and related waste products
    • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, particularly Table 15-2 requirements, Truth In Negotiations Act, and Cost Accounting Standards
