Job Description

Firmware EngineerState-of-the-art products demand state-of-the-art firmware, and that s the role of our Firmware Engineering team. We lead and deliver the analysis, design, programming, debugging, troubleshooting or modification of software for firmware applications. Our team oversees programming activities involving analog and digital hardware as well as software operating systems. We also influence product development at all stages. In short, we use the latest technology to modify existing solutions, in addition to developing innovative new software and firmware solutionsWhat you ll achieveUnderstands the needs and expectations of stakeholders (Sustaining & Security Solutions Leads), and facilitates/planning/ordering of work items at the Service Request/Replenishment. Gather business requirements and participate in prioritization of security incidents and vulnerabilities.You will:

  • Close collaboration and issues management and debug on firmware releases from vendor. Fast root causing, resolution, and closure on issues found through the entire cycles.
  • Manage and maintain Firmware releases to ensure the quality of releases from vendors.
  • Team work with other functional teams like Electronic Engineers, BIOS, Testing, Dell internal software team and so on.

  • Experience with Perl, Python, or TCL Scripting, or other automation script language.
  • Good understanding of x86 architecture and experience with BIOS FW, C/C++ hands-on programming skill required.
  • Good analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills. Experience with various debug tools - Windbg, XDP, etc.
  • Good interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Ability to operate as an individual contributor and within a team environment.
Desirable Requirements
  • Good English skill.
  • >5 years working experience on software/firmware related jobs
