Only serious job seekers need to share their applicationDesignation: Purchaser- Deputy ManagerIndustry Type: Marine/ Shipping / ShipyardJob Location: Kolkata ( West Bengal)Educational Qualification Requirements: BE/B.Tech: Mechanical Engineering.Additional degree: Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Procurement equivalent degree/certifications.Experience: 4-7 yrsPurpose of the Position:The Position is expected to:Work with suppliers, manufacturers and internal departmentsMaintain a database of approved suppliersBuild and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendorsNegotiate lower pricingSearch and source potential suppliers and vendorsTrack, measure and analyze company expenditures.Detailed Responsibilities:Responsible for all purchasing activities for vessels .Executing all purchasing activities in accordance to the organisations purchasing guidelines and procedures.Sourcing, identifying and purchasing technical and operational supplies required for marine activities at the right quality and competitive price.Conducting periodic vendors appraisals and price comparisons.Scrutinizing all inventory forms received from the vessels and following up with the vessel with regards to any discrepancies noticed in the inventory form.Obtaining preliminary sanction for indented quantity / items from technical superintendent and follow the purchase process.Floating enquiries to different suppliers and receive quotations from suppliers.Negotiating with suppliers to deliver best results for the company (for major supplies such as Paints, Lubes, Spares).Facilitating award of contract for supply to vendor through preparation of comparative statement and submitting the same to technical superintendent.Placing order on obtaining instructions from technical superintendent and communicating the same to the selected vendor along with shipping instructions for the items to be placed on board the vessel.Following up and communicating with agents, ships personnel and suppliers in respect of supply of indents and obtain ships confirmation of receipt of supply goods through departure report.Ensuring physical stock checking of spares/ stores on board.Maintaining the entire purchasing documentation process and ensuring quarterly cost reports are submitted.Ensuring that all invoices are approved by the relevant person and passed to accounts in a timely manner.Working with the Superintendent for carrying out the purchase process while ensuring transparency, correctness and promptness.NOTE: We are not having any registration charges Or service fee from job seekers but dont entertain unwanted job seekers who are not serious for their job change.
