Roles & Responsibilities Hardware & Networking a. Identify the faulty hardware through error codes, event logs, wrap test, SNMP test & engage to get the precise part from service provider b. Plan replacements in a structured manner such as change plan, change approval, minimal or no down time c. Work with hot swappable devices d. Configure network link aggregation (teaming or IP Multi pathing), Configure SCSI, FSCSI, Ethernet, TCPIP, e. Configure redundant hardware with respect to disk, network adapters. f. Good understanding of Vendors - HP, Dell OS Administration a. Perform system dump b. Analyze and identify the root cause (of memory leakage issues, disk expansions, partition issues) c. Upgrade or migrate of OS to next version, d. Create SOPs and best practices e. Decide Allow or Deny Ports and services using OS native Firewall, f. Upgrade the device drivers. g. Decipher the penetration test results h. perform vulnerability tests, have good knowledge of scripting i. install and debug third party applications Clustering a. Configure application high availability b. Configure application start and stopping scripts. c. Check IP and Non IP heartbeats, d. Check cluster logs and trouble shoot cluster start errors, e. Troubleshoot cluster synchronization issues and fix them. Virtualization a. Create and configure virtual machines b. Create a baseline for patching c. Isolate issues using log files(events and errors), d. Estimate the snap shot size and data store/storage pool/virtual space or v disks size based on the server usage and growth capacity . Backup & Disaster Recovery a. Restore backups using OS native commands, backup wizards. b. Troubleshoot backup failures, Ability to generate report, automate backup reports and its historical data c. Manage backup policy (such as creation, modification, and drop). d. Restore backups (file, directory, over the LAN/WAN, System backup (such as system state/Operating System Image backup and restoration using the System Image clones) Storage a. Work with different tiers of RAIDed arrays b. Use OS commands to assess whether LUN is properly assigned to OS with proper multiple paths. c. Work with storage team for any HBA controller related issues d. Identify if FC card attached to switch properly e. _ Identify faulty connectivity between Server FC adapters and Storage Switch. Active Directory a. Work on new policy creation, dropping policies, computer objects, move FSMO roles b. Create scope and super scope for DHCP Server c. Troubleshoot any Directory services issues d. Create Directory services replication sites, and trouble shoot any related issues e. Troubleshoot Directory disaster recovery issues Antivirus a. Deploy AV policies and tasks b. Isolate issues during virus/malware threats, or any new virus/malware announcement from the vendor. c. Work on AV diagnose tools Biz Talk Platform Technical Skills a.
