Position DetailsPosition Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager- Vehicle Engineering-Front axle& Sheet metal Reports To DCM-Vehicle Engg.Place of Posting Mohali R&D PlantResponsibilities & Key DeliverablesExecute Design and Development of tractor Front axle, Chassis and Steering related componentsProject monitoring to ensure adherence to Delivery, Cost & specifications as per SNPD process.Up-gradation of existing platforms to meet changing customer requirements. Resolution of design related field quality issues / customer irritants.Coordinating activities to ensure adherence to TQM requirements.Identify & execute cost affective design options to reduce product cost. Ensuring product conformance to statutory requirementsExecute changes for resolution of design related Field quality issues / customer irritants within stipulated QCD targets, monitor & compare before/ after, end to end results to understand the gains. Deliver innovative, reliable & cost effective solutions. Resolution of Field complaints based on warranty RPH data, Addition of new features based on feedback & understanding the latent needs of users on different model mix variants to improve operator comfort & safety. Cost re-engineering: through re-designing, alternate material selection, VA/VE etc.Job RequirementsExperience (years)3-7 years Industry Preferred TractorQualificationB Tech./ B ECompetenciesCompetenciesAble to resolve the errors/ defects through integration of various statistical techniques & past experience to reduce/ eliminate recurring errorsKnowledge of latest developments in Front axe, Chassis and Steering systems, in the related or unrelated industry and give inputs to innovate or develop new products.Ability to give recommendations to develop a comprehensive process defect evaluation and elimination process.Ability to envisage and deliver end-to-end engineering design services for product Design, Analysis and Manufacturing.Ability to review / Inspect / validate process conformances to acceptable specification limits and eliminate cause of variation and develops a final control plan.Exhibit complete understanding of possible field failures and able to correlate the same with internal testing results.Ability to integrate Concurrent Engineering principles and learnings from Project Management groups of the companies nationally and globally.Ability to create supportive environment & network in order to facilitate change.Draws lessons from failures & applies itself & team development. Processes, alternate materials & different failure modes Enhance capability of the team to deliver innovative, reliable & cost effective solutions. Ensure quick response for closure of critical complaints & risk assessment at different stages of product design Resolution of Field complaints based on warranty RPH data, Handling of customer irritants Good verbal communication & internal personal relations skillsGood Persuasive skills & assertiveness.
