Job Description

As a descriptive insight expert, your primary focus will be to work with the end users and understand reporting requirements, develop an optimal dashboard design, develop and modify reports and dashboards, provide connections to new and existing data sources, prepare data for use in Tableau, develop extracts, publish data sources and workbooks, develop custom scripts, and coordinate releases of data and workbooks. You will be responsible for creating the data that drives visual solutions and improves the stakeholders ability to monitor their operations. You are expected to have a strong understanding of the domain you are supporting and influence the way information provided is consumed. A qualified candidate should have applied working experience in BI technologies like Tableau, Alteryx (any other) since you will be developing and maintaining interactive dashboards that create actionable insights. The projects will typically require you to deep dive into data, identify trends and patters, find data markers for business rules, generate insights and find a scalable and sustainable way to continue providing that insight generally using a dashboard. Responsibilities:
• Create dashboards and visualizations based on user requirements, including data analysis
• Design, develop, publish, test and troubleshoot dashboards and data sources
• Establish connections to data sources
• Design & develop dashboard solutions and coordinate with support partners for production deployment
• Assemble large, complex data sets that feed analytic insights
• Ensure consistency by adhering to a set of style rules and guidelines
• Show the ability to create large data sets and maximize the performance of dashboards
• Communicate clearly with peers and managers on recommendations, process improvement and initiatives
• Maintain composure and positive attitude during stressful situations
• Work with peers to create useful reports and dashboards that provide insight, improve/automate processes, or otherwise add value to the team
The ideal candidate for this role will meet the following qualifications: Experience and Education
• Bachelor s degree in data science, statistics, math or economics (preferred but not required)
• Ability to thrive in an extremely fast-paced environment
• Ability to translate technical details, observations and results into business language
• Strong communication and presentation skills, written and oral
• Working knowledge of Alteryx and Tableau
Technical Skills
• Demonstrate technical expertise to interpret reports, analyze data and recommend solutions
• Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
• Ability to quickly understand, extract and manipulate unfamiliar data environments
• Ability to query and display large data sets while maximizing the performance of Tableau workbooks
• Ability to perform statistical analysis on large data sets, leading to insights about improving the business, using tools such as Tableau and Alteryx
Analytical Skills
• Successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, discrete datasets
• Highly developed problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
• Understanding of advanced calculations and functions
