Job Description

The job holder is an individual contributor and is responsible for smooth and efficient day to day operations of a unit within the overall structure of Fund Services. He is responsible for ensuring error free operations to some of the most demanding clients. Other responsibilities include preparing financial statements within the deadline imposed by the clients and for that collaborating with auditors, R&T agent and other stakeholders.The role requires co-ordination with internal team as well as concurrent auditors. The role also requires working on client deliverables as and when solicited by the clientsStrategy

  • Scrupulously toes service standards spelled out by Head Fund Services under the aegis of Head Securities Services Ops, India & SA.
  • Ensures compliance with all Group and Country policies, Code of Conduct, statutory regulations and laws
  • Takes active lead in designing and implementing best-in-class, globally consistent solutions except where impossible due to regulation or market practice. Under such exceptional cases, jobholder takes lead in identifying simple, effective non-standard solutions for approval at regional/global level
Business
  • Provides best-in-class operational client support service to address client s operational queries and issues
  • Works closely with business leaders in Client Management and Product Management to ensure that the services delivered by operational platforms conform to the most stringent client service level agreements and internal benchmarks; optimises balance between service standards and cost management
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant local and global regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Strives to inculcate a continuous improvement culture to maximise cost and processing efficiency
  • Minimises operational losses and manages within defined tolerances
Processes
  • Participates in various system UATs and highlights observations to the manager in charge of systems and technology from Fund Services.
  • Identifies operational risks and establishes appropriate control mechanisms, both for in-country processes and at GBS
  • Ensures any non standard processes are risk-assessed and approved through the appropriate forum before delivery
  • Escalates operational issues especially those with substantial client impact - to relevant stakeholders across group
  • Ensures all critical regulatory changes are implemented to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Maintains a strong, collaborative business relationship with counterparts in GBS operations centres
People and Talent
  • Ensures quality succession pipeline; inculcates an attitude of improvement and also cross skills himself in other avenues of Fund Services so as to contribute to the bank s objective of building resilience.
  • Strives to fulfil expectations set out by the Head, Fund Services
  • Seeks greater responsibilities from the management
Risk Management
  • Proactively tables all risk & control weaknesses to which the group is likely to be exposed and ensures their timely heads up for mitigation
  • Ensures operational incidents (losses or near misses) and client complaints are logged without any delay & escalated to all stakeholders
  • Identifies all potential risks within the function being handled, monitors, controls and mitigates accordingly
  • Ensures impeccable concurrent and statutory audit reports
Governance
  • Follows the Group s values and code of conduct in the Operations team to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees forms part of the culture.
  • Ensures compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This includes compliance with not only local banking laws but also anti-money laundering regulations and guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Processing capability: - Ability to process voluminous transactions with speed and accuracy
  • Analytical ability: - Possess strong analytical skills to drill down variation in Net Asset Value components
  • Innovation: - Always be on the lookout for improving processes by focussing on digitisation
  • Risk Management: - Possess the knack to be able to identify, control and mitigate operational risks to the organisation
  • This role demands 2+ years experience in Fund accounting
